“You possess in your hand, a cross, young one. Are you a religious?”
The first thing that Aslan noticed about the stranger before him was his cross. He must be a religious man for not many causally carry around a religious heirloom unless so. The cross reminded him of a conversation he had with the children of Adam, and Eve, before they left Narnia. The children asked if they’d ever see him again. A hard question for the lion for the two eldest would not journey back into the realm of Narnia. They’ve grown and as much as the lion wanted them to come back their land of London needed them.
Aslan spoke to the children and reassured them that they would know him in their world by a different name. The cross is a reminder of his name in the human realm.
