“Well. I suppose this city does have different rules, or attracts all kinds of people.” He adds, his statement neither positive or negative. His intentions still a mystery as he stares at the windows where thousands if not millions of people were doing their lives. 

 “But, its the same situation.” He pauses. “No escape, and trapped. Maybe a million cycles or more again.” 

 “I wonder if they repeat cycles here.”

“True, In my short time here I’ve already encountered many types of creatures in different walks of life being plucked from their homeland and placed here.”

He looked out the same window through which the man was looking. It was entertaining to see people bustling up and down, but it was also sad.

“My only worry is for the children who are brought here. These children need protection. I wish I could protect all of them.”

Nanao never saw that one coming. Definitely CLOSE not to see that coming. Lions are very new to the shinigami herself since she rarely or never leaves Soul Society without Shunsui’s permission. But thanks to him, the inevitable was prevented but still, a talking lion is a bizarre first.

“Okay. Thanks for the reminder…” She managed to back off from the pothole she was about to stepped onto. Even with glasses on, sometimes you don’t know what you’re seeing at.

“I’m glad you’re not hurt, young one."

Aslan stepped forward and stopped right in front of the young woman, his aura calming. His body did not convey a threat. There was no reason for him to threaten the young woman.

“What’s your name?”

“I believe we are in Cotes Ward, specifically the forest containing the tree of Ophiuchus. There is also a library and marketplace as you get closer to the dwellings that house the residents of this ward.”

“Interesting! Perhaps I should take up reading as a hobby. In Narnia, I did not need to read for I knew everything. Here I do not have that ability. I need to retain as much knowledge as possible.”

Is that too much information, possibly? Aslan followed behind the young man as they walked through the Cotes Ward.

Aslan was always a welcome sight; a presence that Aichi treasured immeasurably, a friend whose very appearance warded off concerns that might pester his thoughts. Like any, it was saddening to hear that, at best, the lion’s recollection was hazy, but warming was it that he could even sense that they had once been in each other’s company.

“Yes, we did during another time when you were here. We were able to share some time together, you’re a friend that I feel secure being around, like everything falls into place and the problems outside are put on hold. But if you can’t remember, that’s alright — I’ll remember for the both of us. My name is Aichi Sendou, it’s always a pleasure, Aslan”.

“I'm glad that you do know me"

Aslan was ecstatic that he wasn’t crazy and that they’ve actually met before. However, part of him was also saddened for the young man. If they know each other and Aslan’s been here before then it’s possible that child has been in this dangerous situation this entire time. 

“ Perhaps with time, my memory will return. Or if not, we shall make new memories together!”

― “Aslan”, he repeats the name, making sure to pronounce it properly. He’s not offended by being called young one, but it makes him wonder how old this tall pile of fur is. Might ask that later. “Of course. I am among the most successful Ferengi on Ferenginar”, he proceeds with confidence.

“But what kind of animal are you? Are you from earth?”

“I resemble an earth lion, but I am not from earth.”

Aslan chuckled. He was definitely interested in Brunt for he’s never seen another creature like him. Hmm... Ferengi on Ferenginar? Even Brunts homeland sounds foreign, He thought to himself.

He doesn’t say no. In fact his answer tells her that he is saying ‘yeah I am the king’ but is he the king of lions or something more is her question. She supposes one day she’ll find out. “That’s pretty cool,” Is what she’ll say at least. King Aslan? No, because he didn’t even introduce himself as such.

“So what happens since you’re here? I hope no one tries to take your position while you’re gone.”

“Young one, don’t worry about me. My position can’t be taken. I was not the type to be kept in one place anyway, so my people will not know that I'd left my land for good.”

Aslan tried his best to sound reassuring. He turned his focus to the young woman,

“It concerns me more that you are here. This place is unsafe.”

Aslan smiled, glad that this conversation turned into a friendly one. He wasn’t in the mood to battle another citizen.

It was an inconvenience that his leg had chosen now, of all times, to give out on him. It wasn’t anything he wasn’t used to, sure, but it was an annoyance nonetheless. Years of physical therapy and walking around to find himself with proper footing could still crumble apart with the right stimuli.

Like a poorly placed rock he stumbled on while walking around, twisting his ankle as he fell over.

Normally, he could rely on someone else when this happened, but he didn’t exactly know anyone in this new world. He’d just have to wait it out a little - wait for the numbing sensation he felt instead of pain to subside, so he could make his way home.

But it sounded like someone was approaching, so…maybe it wouldn’t be too bad to ask them for help. “…hello? Is someone over there?”

Edmund? Aslan thought to himself while following behind a teenager with dark hair. He knew deep down in his heart that there was a high chance that it was, in fact, not Edmund. But, he still remains in the shade of shadows, trying not to let his presence be known. Aslan watched as the young man's leg gave out.

Once he approached the young man, he found out for sure that he wasn't Edmund at all. A small sting of relief and disappointment, but he pushed back his feelings for later. At that moment he needed to concentrate on the hurt child before him.

“I am right here, child. Do not be frightened. I am here to help you not to cause you anymore harm.”

Aslan bellow, shaking the surroundings. He can be quite deafening if you’re not used to a giant beast shouting. He was hoping to capture the attention of the young woman who was about to step into a deep pothole.

the trouble with living long, is that one tends to have a extremely large and obsene amount of names that no one can seem to get right. Unless you were some diety than the name stuck with you. 

 “I am Li Shuwen. Or you ….ah never mind.” he shakes his head, being so old, he had utter confidence in his skills as an assassin. But there was no need to bring that up to anyone. 

 He brings out two bowls of Beef Stew, setting a larger portion for his guests. 

 “Aslan, What a noble sounding name. Does it have any meaning?”

“It’s nice to make your acquaintance, Li Shuwen.”

A hungry Aslan was eager to share whatever was prepared by an older gentleman. He doesn't know exactly what the man cooked, but it smelled good and that is all that matters. But first he must answer his question,

“Aslan shows up in some human languages as lion, but to my people it means something entirely different.”

 “Its a bit odd. I am used to finding lions with human bodies instead of the original shape.” in other words he is used to living in a world where everyone was a furry, but that is neither here or there. 

“That is a bit odd... usually it’s the other way around.”

A chuckle came from Aslan, This world has certain things he would not find in Narnia. But, in the same breath there are things in Narnia that he’s yet to see in this land. This notion was entertaining to the lion.

Tails sways with excitement behind her and she doesn’t even hesitate to take seat right next to the Lion. 

“Sir, have you by chance read this book? It’s about this little girl lost in the woods and comes across a Goblin. Such a cute and lovely story about two different specimen becoming friends and going on adventures together while finding the little girl’s way back home.”

“I have not read the novel. But, do tell me more. I’m curious since it fascinates you.”

Aslan could read, and he also possessed abilities most other lions are unable to enjoy. However, he never stayed around long enough to make time for reading. Back in Narnia he’d wander off when his presence was no longer needed.

He acts like a natural in the kitchen. During his original time where memories did not diverge into two seperate time lines, where there was peace. he had made his own medicine, and you couldn’t make your own medicine without acting first like you know how to cook. Sure his recipes are a bit basic but he had to feed himself sometimes. Even when he had family over. 

He puts the water down and then starts to prepare dinner. 

 “Should I call your kind lion? yokai? anything you want to be called or is Arslan enough?” Spices were put down and there was oil being drizzled into the wok. 

Aslan takes a nice lick of his water bowl while pondering over his question. What should the great lion be called? Kings of Kings, Lord of All, ruler over Narnia? No, that's far too much for the great beast. His kingdom calls him by many names, but while in this land he goes by a simpler name.

“You may call me Aslan. What may I call you?”

“Aslan….” She says his name carefully, just to remember it and make sure she pronounced it right. It’s not difficult, BUT you never know. You can think something is easy until you try it. 

And he heard her. OF course he did. With a laugh Ismael then says, “Well, It took me a moment, but yeah, this is SO cool.” If he heard her earlier than she’ll just say it out louder. NO worries. 

“So, you’re bigger than most lions, huh? Like…in your world are you the king of lions?”

“I am that I am.”

While he stated it, he firmly believed that the young lady might not have an understanding of what he meant at all. Of course, he is the King of Kings and the founder of Narnia, but he hates boasting about his status.

While I have pondered this question for quite some time, I cannot think of any nervous practices that Aslan has before or could have currently. Most of the time, he appears calm and collected both in attitude and in conduct. Everything that he does has a purpose.
