The evening had only started about two minutes ago and already he wanted to stab something...or someone. Being close to his Aunt already drew attention to him, but once the mama's had realized he was an eligible Duke as well he'd essentially had a target painted on his back. Only years of military training and the knowledge that he carried his family's reputation on his shoulders, quiet literally, kept him in line. Though the smile she'd elbowed him about putting on was a stretch.

Gaze shifting towards the Queen as she called him forward he moved with the fluid grace of one in complete control of his body. Pausing at her side and looking towards the visiting Prince and his two sisters, bowing when it became clear that he was being introduced. Offering the youngest his arm when it became clear that he was to be her escort for the first half of the ball, which included dinner.

Knowing that he should at least attempt some semblance of small talk he cleared his throat awkwardly as he led her towards the dining room. "....the uh....weather was nice today....."

Xander let's his eyes scan the ornate wedding hall, somewhat bored of the conversation with his bandmates. It seemed to be a typical affair, going off without a hitch until. "Oh... oh shit," He says his eyes landing upon a redhead across the venue.

He shoves his slender body behind the nearest column and prays.

His bandmates, now curious, follow his gaze. "Who's she?" One asks wiggling his his eyebrows.
