“Just pick a flavor David,” you told your boyfriend, who was taking a little too long to pick an ice cream flavor. You two were at target getting snacks for your low-key movie date. “I don’t know what to pick!” he said throwing his hands in the air. “Ok, then I’ll pick,” you said as you started to reach for cookie dough. David grabbed your hand to stop you and said “No but I want to pick.” “Then choose!” you said as you pushed him lightly. He picked up a container of chocolate fudge and placed it in the cart. “So we have ice cream, popcorn, soda, gummy bears, chips and oreos. Anything else you want?” you asked David. “If we pick up a box of brownie mix, would you be willing to bake them?” he asked with a bright smile. He was so cute that you couldn’t say no. “Ok I’ll bake brownies. But I have a recipe at home we can use so we don’t need a box,” you said as you started pushing the cart towards the check out.

You two were at home now and David was emptying the groceries while you pulled out your brownie recipe. “Babe, can you clear off the counter so we can use the space? Just put everything next to the stove and we’ll deal with that while the brownies bake,” you explained to him. He started moving things out of the way and you began to pull out the things you need. “Ok so what can I do to help?” he asked. “Put three tablespoons of butter in a bowl and stick it in the microwave for ten seconds,” you instructed. The next step was to add the flour to the mixing bowl so you measured it out and dumped it in. As soon as David turned around to face you, you flicked flour right at his face. Needless to say, he was surprised. “Emi! You are a sneaky one!” he said as he took a pinch from the container and flicked it on your shirt. “Oh my god!” you shouted. David burst into laughter so to get back at him, you decided to take some cocoa powder and rub it all over his chest. You started laughing, as David stood there with his mouth hanging open. “Well, well, well….it looks like you think you’re so clever and hilarious,” he said wagging a finger at you jokingly. “That’s because I am,” you said with a cheeky smile. “That’s where you’re wrong! We both know that I will win this one! You just wait,” he said rubbing his hands together mischievously. “How about we finish the brownies, get cleaned up and then watch our movie?” you suggested, hoping he wouldn’t pull anything funny on you. “Ok, ok. That sounds like a plan,” he agreed. You two finished adding the ingredients and stirred it all together. You pulled out a baking pan and David was about to pour the batter in when he quickly moved and held the bowl over your head. “Don’t do it!” you squealed a protected your face. “Why shouldn’t I?!” he asked. “Because I love you and if you did I would be super mad!” you shouted. “I won’t do it if you kiss me!” he said. You uncovered your face and looked up to see him smiling at you. You took the bowl, set it on the counter behind you and kissed him. “Oh and I love you too,” he said before kissing you once more. “If you love me you’ll finish off the brownies while I go clean myself up,” you said as you turned to escape. Before you could he grabbed your hand and pulled you closer to him and he just looked at you. “What are you staring at me for?” you asked. “I just needed one more good look at you, flour really suits you,” he said with a laugh. “But really, I don’t think I’ll ever get over the piercing green eyes,” he added. “Oh stop,” you said as you blushed and looked down. “I’m serious! You’re so pretty, even when you look like you rolled around in a flour sifter,” he said as he tapped your nose. You laughed and said “Stop trying to stall, get those brownies finished,” as you headed to clean yourself up.
