After 3 weeks without Judo and Kickboxing, was time to get in to the ring!
I’m heavier (94kg/207lb), a bit slow and without gas. I definitely need to work on my cardio...
You know nothing John Snow... The North is not yours, the North is mine!
On Saturday, semi-final, 2 rounds, a taller opponent with a coach that was confident that they would get the victory... wrong! My coach was a k-1 world champion and I’m a bad motherfucker! Victory was mine!
So, Sunday, in final, 3 rounds, a opponent that really kick the shit out of legs, but in the end my exquisite boxing skills and my goods looks prevailed!
More important that seeing my arm raised was the feeling of accomplishment, the knowledge that despite my need of a new set of lungs, I left everything in the arena!
I want to say a special "THANK YOU" to Fernando Barros Machado, Maria João Peixoto for being always in my corner, specially to Fernando for the amazing massage with balm on my legs... and also a "Thank You" for all the support by the man behind the kickboxing section in SCBraga, Paulinho Carvalho and to Marta Coelho for borrowing me the gloves (those white Twins are sweet)!
So, after this was time to go out and eat a ice-cream and then go to the soccer stadium where thousands of fans were waiting for me and my mates... yes, soccer players are all pussys, Kickboxing and Judokas are the best!
P.S.
Yes, I'm The Champ!
Another day, another training session... waking up next day, when you are 40, it’s so fucked up!
10 days to the competition...
I’m going to fight in two weeks for the first time, in kickboxing!
The trainings are getting harder by the day... but we love it!
