    The first thing he noticed about this young lady was how attractive she looked. The isles seem to have a preference for attractive, colorful characters in general, himself included. The second thing he noticed was the cross-like stone seemingly grafted onto her exposed back, though it did little to mar her skin.

    “I bet that has a story behind it, huh?” he suddenly stated, curiosity getting the better of him. “Would you mind telling me? Maybe over a drink or two?”

“ Oh. ”  It’s a blinking of gentle surprise that he offers her at first, this stranger who has fallen in stride beside him at some point between one deep thought and the next. Not often is Ashton approached in such a manner, something he likens to his admittedly unusual appearance. People typically keep their distance, or otherwise their motives lie in curiosity, in questions or stares that he’s had plenty of time to grow all too used to. It might be appropriate even to say he’s taken a little off guard, though as he directs her a smile anything but the thought to welcome the company is all but forgotten. “ Sure. What’s a walk without company, right? ”  Although, never is he truly without it, not with his dragons there to fill the blanks. Ashton thinks it might be the other way around, that she is the one looking for a conversation instead.

“ Anywhere you headed? I was on my way to Cotes, myself. ”
