A silly little scene from my Hollow Portals AU. *Note: Ghost and Chell are communicating in sign language.

Some time after Ghost gets the King's Brand Chell teased them about something:

"Excuse you, that's the King of Hallownest you're speaking to. Show some respect," Ghost said.

"I'm American, we kind of fought a whole war about not respecting kings," Chell replied.

"I don't think America even really exists anymore, also you're not in America, you're in Hallownest."

"Yeah, but it's not like I'm a citizen of Hallownest. I'm not even a bug!"

"You could at least try to show some kind of respect for the culture you're in."

"I'm your friend, keeping you humble is part of the job description."

"I that case, I think you're title should be a little more formal than 'friend'."

"How about 'King's Advisor'?" Chell suggested.

"What does a 'King's Advisor' even do? And don't say 'they advise the king'."

"If all the media I don't remember consuming is anything to go by, they hunch, and give the king evil advice as they manipulate them into doing terrible evil things and or try to kill them so they can take power for themselves."

Ghost considered this for several seconds before nodding vigorously and giving Chell a thumbs up.

"So, I take it you accept me as your advisor?"

"Start hunching."

Mc in a mood starting arguments with everyone

O: A… are you alright has something happened?

Mc: *Sarcastically* no I’m FINE Ominis I just want to punch everyone’s faces in for NO REASON

S: Don’t worry, I’ve got this *pushes MC against the wall (Ominis protesting in the background) kissing her hard as she tries to argue back, pulls back only once he’s sure she’s too breathless to talk* see she can’t be mean if she can’t speak

O: I’m sure there was multiple other ways to do that

S: Yes but that was the most fun for everyone involved

O: Speak for yourselves

Deadly Golf

Austin works on finding his next target, William Lawrence—the judge who agreed to send him to the asylum. "This will be easy," he says while reading the judge goes to a country club that does a sport called archery golf. No torture or causing fear, but I'll be causing panic if others are with him." Austin first needs to get a good idea of the layout of the country club. Finding ways to sneak in, good places to hide, and hit his target. This is going to take a while. Add the challenge of not blowing his cover.  

Austin's research takes two weeks. He's annoyed at how long this took but wants to wait to blow his cover. He can get what he needs and plan how to execute his kill.

William Lawrence and five other people enjoy a game of archery golf. A small crowd watches the game from a safe distance. Austin lets them have fun. Ten minutes into the game, disaster strikes. No one sees the arrow until William goes down. One female screams and tries to rush to the man, and she breaks free from the hold two other men have on her and rushes to her husband.

"William, wake up!" She cries, "Will!" The man is unresponsive. "Don't try to remove it," a man tells the frantic woman. Everyone at the scene worries about what the arrow hit. Hoping the amount of blood doesn't indicate how severe the injury is.

Austin smiles, hearing William is dead. "The arrow stabbed his heart," the paramedic tells the police, "dead before he landed on the ground." Austin leaves the area with the bow, knowing the police will look for clues as to who did the murder. Wondering who his next victim should be.

So this is a snippet from chapter 16 of my fanfic, A Scientific Match. I really enjoyed writing this romance scene as I think it also really highlights some of how this is an enemies to lovers couple. @tearsnyearning

For context: this is at a Halloween party. Kowalski is dressed as a cat, Blowhole/Francis as a vampire.

However, instead of answering her, Blowhole grabbed Kowalski by the flipper and rolled away with him. He looked down into two very thankful bright blue eyes. "So who was that?" he asked as he pressed a button on his Segway console. A small stage attachment assembled itself at the front of the Segway.

"Blue. An evil genius chicken that I had hoped was over me. I flirted with her twice to provide a distraction… But apparently she's hung up on me." He shook his head. "She's not my type though, " he then added, looking back at Blowhole.

The dolphin put him down on the stage. "I would have been over sooner, but there was a party crasher that distracted me."

"It's fine." He smiled at him and looked at the mini dance floor. "So… Is this your way of asking me to dance, Francis?"

"Who said I was giving you an option?" He grinned at him. "You do know how to tango, right?"

"Yeah."

"Good." He pulled him closer as the song began. "So let's make our exes seethe with jealousy, Mittens."

"I'm nOt bEIng A scArEdY cAt!"

Blowhole twirled him and pulled him close once more. "Perhaps I just wanted to fluster you."

"Cod, you're evil." Kowalski attempted to push him away, but Blowhole grabbed his flipper.

"Oh don't play innocent. You walked into this with eyes wide open. You knew I was evil from the beginning, and yet here you are. Obviously it's not a turn off for you."

Kowalski's feathers rustled and he avoided eye contact as he was brought close once again. "No…It's not a turn off."

Blowhole leaned in closer. "And I know you like my smiles, " he whispered.

The peng-u-in stepped back on the mini floor with widened eyes. "How do you—"

"Well, for starters, you mumble in your sleep." He moved forward.

"Oh cod."

Blowhole chuckled, twirling him and bowing him back. "That's not the only thing you do in your sleep, Mittens, " he murmured by his ear hole.

Kowalski looked at him. "What else—"

"You purr." He flicked the bell with a smirk and looked at his beak. He could kiss him now...But he wouldn't. He could tell Kowalski was expecting a kiss, but he'd keep him waiting.

Blowhole glanced around them and noticed they were being watched. "Maybe it's time to make that exit, " he then murmured instead, leaning Kowalski back up and twirling him. He pulled him close again.

"Always keep them wanting more." Kowalski winked at him.

"Hold on to your ears." He then grinned, pressing another button on the console. The floor dropped away from below them and they landed on a slick ramp a few feet below.

Kowalski held on tightly to Blowhole and the Segway. His cat ears were knocked off kilter by the rough landing onto the ramp. He looked at him, frowning. "A little more warning would be nice!"

"I told you to hold on to your ears."

"And how am I supposed to know that means we're going to be plummeting through the floor?!"

"Chillax, Mittens." He chuckled. "I had a good grip on you."

"NO I WAS THE ONE HOLDING ON TO YOU."

"Eh, same difference."

I’m gonna do two WIP’s this one is a vampire/human homosexual romance that I’ve had on my list to work on for a while but was struck by inspiration recently. It has a tentative title of “Your Last Resort“ and only has about 1,400 words written at the moment.

A snippet of your work in progress:

When Lucian was finished explaining the vampire nodded and walked over to Nathan. He placed a thin hand on Nathan’s shoulder as he informed the men behind Nathan with a crisp, cultured accent, “The house of Jacquet will accept Mr Swann’s debt.” He gestured to the left at a female vampire. “If you follow her, she will process the transaction while I prepare Mr Swann.”

Nathan had no warning as the vampire’s hand gripped him tighter and pulled him to his feet as if he weighed little more than a child; still reeling from their acceptance, Nathan didn’t fight the vampire. His obedience made it easy to be directed past the chair where Lucian sat, the vampire clan leader was still imposing and cold, but his eyes lingered on Nathan until he was out of view. Nathan just nervously darted his eyes over his surroundings; there were more vampires than he’d noticed initially, they were lingering in the shadowed corners of the room, talking lowly or watching the proceedings. There were  humans as well, some had serving dishes, others were lingering by a vampire, waiting for orders. There were two just standing in front of what seemed to be thick black curtains but as Nathan was led closer by the vampire’s firm hand on his shoulder, the two humans hurriedly pulled the fabric aside with bowed heads. It was beyond obvious that by their simple clothing and submissive gestures that all of them were human servants.

Something Nathan had a good chance of becoming.

The hallway that they stepped into was lit by lanterns that were hanging from the roof or built into the walls. Paintings and tapestries also decorated the walls while the carpet was thick under Nathan’s feet. The room felt old despite being in a relatively new building. He didn’t know if it was a testament to the five centuries Lucian had lived or if it was a decor that all vampires instinctively craved for their courts; shadowed, antiquated and oppressive. 

When the curtains fell closed behind them, further sealing Nathan into the debt and control of a vampire clan, he felt cold sweat break out over his skin. The hallways also took on a more intimidating, fearful edge as without windows, or doors that weren’t guarded by humans with a vampire liable to walk around every corner, he was well and truly trapped.

And worse than that, even if he did run, Nathan had nowhere he could go.

The theme song for your WIP:

Need You Tonight - INXS. This could also count as a pairing song buuuut I think it fits the mood of the story very well XD

The theme song for your protagonist:

Downfall of Us All - A Day to Remember. This is very fitting for Nathan, showing his optimism and drive and how things go wrong, but he’s going to rise above it. He’s going to move forward and out.

The theme song for your antagonist: 

The story doesn’t really have an “antagonist” as such, the closest would be the protagonist’s ex best-friend and former business partner, Garrett. This song would fit for him: Money - Pink Floyd

The theme song for your protagonist’s love interest (if they have one): 

Viva La Vida - Coldplay. Lucian is a very tired, lonely old vampire whose disenchanted despite his supportive court around him. This fits him very well.

The theme song for the main pairing of your WIP:

I’m going with one from each since that seems the most fitting thing to do!

Nathan: Damn Regret - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Lucian: I Don't Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith

Time to Dance - Panic! at the Disco. You have to squint a little to make this work. It also fits for other planned chapters too. I’m also on the first chapter, so I’m combining this question since I’m having difficulty working out something else, heh.

Last Resort - Papa Roach. It does not fit this story but because of the title, I always get it in my head, so it bares mentioning for that reason ^^;

Tropical Storm - Snippet

-Four Months Ago-

A dark room was only illuminated by the light coming from a large screen. A figure sat in the shadows, dropping yet another balled up tissue to the growing pile by the chair leg.

“They didn’t find anything? Nothing at all, Grace?”

The clouded leopard on the screen shook her head with a sigh. “Well...I said they didn’t find any signs of life or his body. I never said they didn’t find anything.”

“Go on.”

“Scout, I don’t think I should--”

“Grace.”

The feline paused, squinting at the darkened figure before her. “His leg.”

“What?”

“They found his leg. That’s all. I’m sorry, but I’m afraid Lieutenant Lewis concluded his services with us.”

Scout stood up from the shadows on her stubby legs, her round ears pinned back against her dark brown head and her paw to her short snout. For a moment she remains silent before taking a deep breath and nodding. “I’ll...I’ll tell the team, Director.”

“Sandra.”

The bush dog stiffened and shook her head. “Don’t...Don’t Sandra me. I’m fine. I’m...I’ll be fine.” She swallowed. “Lewis...Lewis was a good agent. He knew the risks, as do all of us.” She glanced at the screen. “Are we to expect a replacement soon?”

“Not yet.” She shook her head. “I’ll have to check files and see who we have that is both qualified and available. It may be a few months...But I think that should give you and your team time to mourn.” 

Scout nodded, wiping her eyes with the back of her paw. “Yes, ma’am. We’ll manage until then.”

“I’ll be in touch.” Grace nodded before ending the call and the room went black with the absence of the screen light.

He looked like a courtier and Horace gave the man a polite bow and apologised, “I am sorry, sir, I was not watching where I was going.”

“You’re... speaking to me?” the man asked, his voice filled with incredulity and his eyes overflowing with a longing and hope that Horace did not understand.

He felt his own uncertainty form as he murmured, “Was I not supposed to?”

Horace glanced around, seeking to see if anyone either disapproved of his actions or could explain the other man’s reaction, yet there was no one observing them.

“Nobody does,” the other man whispered, still looking at Horace as if he was a miracle or a dream. It made Horace uncomfortable and he attempted to take a further step back, but the man’s hand darted out, encircling his wrist. “Please,” he hurried to say, “please, do not leave.” The genuine fear and desperation made Horace hesitate and kept him from pulling out of the other man’s hold. The man noticed his indecision and began to explain, his words seemed to tumble out of him, “I am under a curse. No one has spoken to or noticed me for years. You are the first.”

“A curse?” Horace asked, baffled. “There has been no magic-user in the kingdom for almost two centuries.” He attempted to pull away, but the man held fast, making Horace frown. “I am sorry for colliding with you, but I do not have time for games.”

“It is not a game!” The man insisted, frustration in his voice and warring with the apprehension in his eyes.

“Sir,” Horace said with force, “release my wrist-”

“I am Prince Pieter, son of King Markus,” the man interrupted, his voice a firm decree. “And I cannot let you leave.”

The theme song for your WIP: 

Little Wonders - Rob Thomas. This is very fitting for once the boys meet and the brightness that Horace brings to Pieter’s life. They both offer comfort, companionship, friendship and love. ❤️ It also works as a pairing song too :3

The theme song for your protagonist:  

Bring It All Back - S Club 7. Okay. So this is such a fairy/candy floss song but it’s so upbeat and poppy and really kind of fits Horace who is such a relaxed, happy guy. I don’t even know what made me think of this song but I suddenly went “wow, this is so fitting for Horace in that tumblr post I’m doing” and here we are. This is a quintessential nineties song and many Americans probably have no idea who this pop group is, but if they’re new to you, now you can enjoy them. 😆

The theme song for your antagonist:

A Jar Labelled Small - Killing Heidi. This may take a bit to understand, but it kind of really works, lyrics wise at least. I’m sticking with it, heh. Plus, I want this out of my drafts, lol.

The theme song for your protagonist’s love interest (if they have one): 

In The Shadows - The Rasmus. This is a an absolutely perfect song for Pieter and was the second song I came up with almost immediately after thinking for something to fit him. (Fabulous filmclip too btw. I loved it as a kid.) It also works as a pre-slash song too 😉

The theme song for the main pairing of your WIP:

Speechless - Memphis May Fire. I think this is song is fitting in a lot of ways, and it’s also soft, which fits the love story between them 😊

The theme song for the opening chapter (if it’s a long fic)

Beautiful Day - U2. This kind of perfectly encapsulates both boys in the opening chapter in very different ways. I like it for them.

Song for the current chapter/page (if it’s a long fic):

Don’t Hold Back - The Potbellez. So, this is a little this chapter, a little the whole story, but I’m happy with it as a fitting track regardless since I’m still working on the story as a whole.

Any other songs you’d like to mention and why:

I’m With You - Avril Lavigne - This song popped into my head as so fitting for Pieter as well as his romance with Horace. Yet, it didn’t quite fit in either of the above categories. So it shall just be placed here instead 😊
