My guyyyyys!!! My little kitties!!! I used a vaguely pixelated brush for this, since the site uses pixel art, and it was really, really fun to use for some reason?? Gotta do that again. And grabbing the colors for this took some thinking, with the way the Not-Cat icons work, but I managed it! These guys are in the order their turns go in combat, so from left to right, we've got Adeen (Medic), Schilly (Fighter), Crystal (Bard), and Liphanes (Guardian). They are such little creatures!!! I need to draw them more!!!

Pokespe chapter 28

Whoo, this was something else... First off, I have to say I love the audacity of Oleana asking the gym leaders, challengers, Sonia, and Leon for help after she helped trap them in the power plant. But one thing that got to me was how she talked about Rose and his snappy decisions. I know this is mentioned on Rose's league card in the games, but it's cool to see how it was worded here "The Chairman is easily misunderstood because of his snappy decisions." I like how that implies that perhaps people may not always trust Rose to begin with because he makes impulsive decisions despite mostly being on target. I also really like how Melony steps in here with some perspective about how the "ends justify the means" and how there's often no chance for forgiveness if you hurt or lose others. I wonder if, at some level, she's thinking of her strained relationship with Gordie. We know she still loves her son deeply and wants to make amends. With the Galarian apocalypse restarted, she probably feels the need to help Oleana if it means saving her and her family and getting a chance to repair the broken bonds. I loved Sou and Schilly's freakout when they heard from Oleana that the Royal twins failed and the rusted items. Poor Leon getting manhandled by the dex holders. I honestly thought it was cool to see Rose stand up and attempt to fight Eternatus to bring out its power even though he was unsuccessful. I liked how he got blasted right as he lamented about teaming up with Sordward and Shieldbert. It was cool to see Leon, Raihan, and Bede work in rescuing Rose, with Bede's Hattrem evolving into Hatterene in the process. But then came the kicker of the chapter for pretty much everyone. Rose actually called Bede by his name...only for Rose to reveal he'd been pretending to forget Bede's name. That was just a majorly messed-up part of the chapter. Pretending not to know is just far worse than actually genuinely not knowing. I also really loved how Raihan and Leon deduced Eternatus' typing using the observation of the effect of Hatterene's Dazzling and prior observations of watching the Royal Twins battle. We love these two smart men! Then, of course, we see what Pokespe is well known for (and beloved for). The gym leaders pitching in to fight against Eternatus. I also really adored Piers' pep talk to Hop, who was worried he'd be useless because none of his Pokemon had the type advantage. Also, I just really loved how that showed how sometimes Hop gets too caught up in the technicalities of things and not just going with the flow. Meanwhile, back with Schilly and Sou, we see them interrogating the Royal Twins with Sonia, who put together the twins and Rose's big plan. I really like how the twins eventually admitted to the historical cover-up, which was nice to see. I've said this before, but I really wish there had been a team-up between the twins and Rose in-game. The way everything is coming together now in the manga is exactly how it could've been in the video games. Definitely, the most heartwarming part of the chapter is seeing Schilly reunited with Giga and Mega. Really sweet and a long time coming. Poor Sou, though, getting burned by the poison. Of course, things take a turn for the worse when it goes quiet as Eternatus gets serious and transforms into the giant hand form. It looks like the gym leaders are about to get bodied in the coming chapters. Not to mention, Sou loses all hope realizing he can't reforge rusted sword and shield. Hopefully, this means we'll be getting backstory for him too!
