I had to go to the bank and deposit a big check to cover replacing the furnace, A/C, hot water heater and thermostat in my mother’s old condo (now mine). I also needed some stuff from the grocery store, to check my office mailbox downtown and inspect/photograph a couple of recent sales of older industrial flex space in the city. So, I did it on the newly tweaked single-speed bike with the front basket. I took care of the errands, put maybe 15-18 miles on the bike and got my workout for the day.
I did all of this before, but now I’m doing it without booze, beer or wine. Each new day brings further clarification to certain things like baggy eyes in the morning or minor forgetfulness. I was sure it was from drinking, but it turns out to be just getting older. Unless you stop completely, there is really no sure way of knowing.
