I love Japanese shoot-'em-ups. Like, you'll spend the whole game fighting goofy robots and brightly coloured aliens - then the last level is all corridors of quivering flesh inhabited by gore-swathed skeletal horrors, and the final boss is this screaming, skinless human face that shoots exploding eyeballs at you, and not a word of explanation is offered for any of this. Oh, you thought you were playing a Star Wars pastiche? Wrong! It's fucking Videodrome in space! Hope you like viscera!
