Another great video from Matt Easton from Scholagladitoria on the so called ‘Flank Officers’ sabres. In this video he focuses more on their use and the possible fighting benefits of these short curved swords.  I found it interesting that seen next to the 1796 Pattern Heavy Cav. Dress sword  it didn’t seem that much shorter despite only having a 28 inch blade (measured in a straight line, from hilt to tip).
