“I know we haven’t been formally introduced yet, but I couldn’t help but catch sight of the book you’re reading. The title makes it sound like it’s an interesting read, but I must confess I don’t know much about Nohrian literature.” 

Sumia hoped she wasn’t coming across as too weird. She had meant to come and introduce herself first, but she had spent a minute watching him read, trying to see the cover of the book. Sumia didn’t think she would know it. She hadn’t spent enough time here to be familiar with the types of books they might have, but she spent time in enough places to know that they weren’t all wildly different after a certain point.

Castle Town [ Altena & Leo ]

Altena smiles and waves to the store vendors in the marketplace.

The castle town in the city of Thracia, no matter the circumstances, was always bustling. Whether it was with people hoping to protect themselves from war or people hoping to celebrate the war’s end, it was always noisy and packed. She remembers days where she would watch on from the top of the castle, watching people walk about while laughing and smiling.

She pauses in front of a fruit vendor, smiling as the owner greets her formally and attempts to press a bag of freshly picked and traded fruit from Leonster. Shaking her head, Altena makes to examine the other fruits on sale, but from the corner of her eye, she sees someone staring at the Gáe Bolg - currently strapped to her back - and she frowns.

Certainly she often got stares, but there was something off about this one - or perhaps, it was the person. Turning on her heel, she turns and briskly approaches the person - a man, she sees as she nears, with blonde hair and a striking face.

“Excuse me, but... who are you?” she questions warily. “I know you're not a mere traveler, so don’t think about lying.”

A Grand Day Out - Leo & Camilla

“Ah, Camilla.“ No doubt he would have to rearrange his entire schedule to do that, but he wasn’t going to turn away his big sister’s offer, especially with how little time the two spent together. “Of course, I would love to.”

“That’s wonderful!” Camilla said, “It’ll be so much fun! We can visit the gardens, and take a walk around the maze, and we can look for that old fountain-”

Camilla couldn’t help it. She’d not seen Leo for any decent amount of time in what felt like years, though it was probably just how busy things had been lately. 

“-And you’re looking so peaky, I know just the thing to bring out the colour in your cheeks!” 

Camilla held down the urge to pinch his cheeks. He was perfectly able to pinch his own, but he always looked so drawn when he’d spent a lot of time studying.

A Duel of Minds

Robin always liked a challenge.

They tried hard not to let their skills get rusty and that meant using them as often as they could. Robin was pleased that a lot of what they had once done was over with. They certainly didn’t want another war or any serious fighting. Dealing with leftover bandits and the like was already troubling, but another war would be devastating. While Robin still helped out with other things, they still wanted to be sure that they wouldn’t become slack in the future.

So that left Robin with time to search out other ways to put their strategic skills to use. Something that was helpful was finding people who were of a similar mindset. Others who had performed a similar job as they had or who were just skilled in the same way.

Robin did not know Leo well and they’d hate to intrude upon his life, but after meeting him, Robin was intrigued. They could see that Leo wasn’t just smart but clever as well. Perhaps they could find a challenge here that would satisfy their desire to challenge themselves still.

“Prince Leo. I was wondering if I may ask you a favor. Hopefully this will be appealing to you as well.”
