On Friday. an all-family text chain started with son Justin reporting that the schools in their Indiana district are closed for at least two weeks, sidelining second-grader Colin.

From L.A. son Benjamin chimed in:  “There are definitely some dystopian vibes our here. People are freaking out, hoarding canned goods, toilet paper ...

Also from the West Coast, daughter Caitlin added:  “Tony is at the grocery store now and says it’s complete chaos... I ordered him to turn around.”

Genetically predisposed to sharp-elbowed irony (she must have gotten it from her mother), Caitlin speculated:  “Dad is thriving in these quarantine days,” a reference, I suppose, to the fact that I’m no social butterfly,

All schools will remain closed until the 28th of April. After that, there’s two weeks of May holiday. So, that would make it two entire months without school. 

That’s a lot of school to miss. I’m especially worried for the kids who need extra help.
