Dress codes are weird. I can't wear matching pink dresses with all four of my friends because administration will think we're in a gang.
My 900th Post Story
i remember there was this one time in the seventh grade when my art teacher and some of the loudest girls in the class were discussing why shoulders and thighs were so "sexy". mind you, i am the quietest girl of my entire art class and i hardly talk to anyone i dont like (which is everyone except a very select few). but just one time, they were talking and out of nowhere, all my feminism comes rushing out of me. "well maybe if we introduce young ladies to self-respect and feminism they won't feel the need to wear exposing things and male teachers and principals won't feel the need to over sexualize things that dont need to be sexualized. if they still want to wear the exposing things, then thats their choice." he stopped, mid-demo and was just like "exactly" with the most approving grin ever and even though the girls had no clue what i had said, my respect factor for my teacher had gone way up that very moment.
