When you gotta go fight but you're a high schooler
Someone's talking about cult brainwashing in the SB tags and I'm so confused because:
- The episode they're talking about is a parody
- They completely misinterpret the point of the episode even though it's as bare bones as it can get.
It's so weird? Like how does the point fly over your head like that and take it to the worst possible extreme? "Nick is brainwashing kids to be mindless sheep" even though the episode was about pointing out why it's wrong to blindly follow people.
ok so context time

How to Balance School and Writing
A How-To Guide Written By a Student for Students
Disclaimer: This isn’t universal, it’s just some advice that worked for me. If it really is difficult for you to balance school and writing, then I implore you to focus on your education. As much as you’re itching to write, education is very important.
Writing is difficult as is, but when you add being a student in the mix? It gets borderline impossible to find the time, motivation, and energy to write when you already have a whole bunch of different responsibilities. As a student myself, I’m here to offer some advice that helped me stay motivated in recent months.
1. ANY PROGRESS IS STILL PROGRESS
Though a huge part of writing is the...well...writing, putting words down onto a paper or document is only part of what goes into a story. Worldbuilding, developing characters, generating plotlines, etc., are some things you can do to help develop your wip without having to write. So, yes, indulging in your daydreams is considered progress because you’re actively exploring different scenarios/ideas for your story. Even writing one or two sentences, doing small edits to previous chapters, or jotting down an idea is a lot better than not doing anything. No matter how small, any progress is progress.
2. CARRY A NOTEBOOK
I recommend a notebook since in a lot of high schools phone usage is very limited or nonexistent during class. It doesn’t have to be particularly fancy or big (I just use this small, thin notebook I got for free when buying pentel pens). This can be where you jot down ideas, dialogue, random excerpts that you want to include. Not only is it useful in helping you remember things, but there’s also just something about seeing your ideas put down on paper that really stimulates your brain and gets it inspired. Anything you jot down, you can use in your wip or don’t, it’s up to you, which, again, counts as writing progress.
3. WRITE WHEN YOU CAN
Does this mean that I’m telling you to write every day? No. I don’t. If you want to and you want to try setting up a schedule that allows you to do that, then more power to you!. I see the advice “write every day” everywhere, and as much as it will probably help you improve your craft and get things done faster, sometimes we really can’t stick to a regular schedule. Write when you have time to write. If there’s some downtime near the end of class, pull out your phone or notebook and write down some sentences. Did you finish lunch and are looking for something to do? Go to the library or computer lab and do some writing. Are you waiting for a ride somewhere? Write. Have some downtime during your part-time job or club activity? Write.
If you don’t have any inspiration or motivation to do a bit of writing, that’s okay too. My advice is to check over the previous chapters you have written and do some edits/revision. Sometimes, seeing how to improve a chapter or scene can help pump the creative juices in your brain.
Remember: You don’t have to write regularly. You just have to write.
4. USE PROCRASTINATION TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
I will say this time and time again: your education is important and should be your priority as a student (there are, of course, exceptions. I know some high school students have to help with paying bills and work long hours to help their family). BUT if you’re really insistent on putting off your homework or project, then you can use your procrastination to help your writing.
Weird. I know. But it works!
Ever had those moments where you would rather do anything else but your homework? USE THAT. Instead of watching Netflix or Youtube, reading books/fanfiction, or scrolling on social media, open your laptop and get to writing. Use your procrastination as fuel for your brain. Do writing sprints. Edit. Revise. Do what you have to do with your wip so that you can procrastinate on doing homework.
5. DON’T STRESS YOURSELF OUT
Being a student is tough and writing is a very time-consuming process. Don’t get stress if you haven’t written in a while or you feel like you aren’t getting anything done because of your busy schedule. You’re still young. Enjoy your life. Don’t worry so much about your wip; it’ll still be there when you get back to it.
school is important so fucking attend it
i'm one of the few people on this dumbass fucking generation who acknowledges the importance of education. all these other bloody gen z kids are like "ugh school is hell" and i'm here to say that IT'S FUCKING NOT. stop with your over exaggerating ass shit and realise that it's IMPORTANT.
I am very serious about this shit because my family is poor all because my dad didn't attend college or uni. if you want to earn a decent amount of money then keep your attendance up and don't drop out. sure, it may be stressful and I get that, but just push through, study hard, and when you get through it you'll be able to get a good job and maybe if you're good enough earn some fat stacks.
