Miggy’s Summer Class :)
Word of the Lourd
My name is Liahona Gloria E. Arcon from STEM 12-G and this is my reflection about Word of the Lourd. From what I’ve observed, Word of the Lourd is a show that’s part of a news channel called News5. This show is hosted by Lourd de Veyra which is where the name of the show got from; Word of the Lourd, Lourd de Veyra. Word of the Lourd is a clever show that tells news about the country but not just in an informative way but also in a hilarious choice of words with different perspectives kind of way. From the name of the show itself, it already showed a playful vibe that you’d come to enjoy once you realize where the name came from.
Normally, news channels give off a serious vibe, using a background music that would give the audience a sense of fear in their system but in this show, you’ll see that whatever bad the news or the issue is, there will always be a positive side to it. They turned a supposed to be bad news for everyone into a good one. They also use trendy and millennial words and news that’s always used in social media. Not only that, their clips are unexpectedly short but would also satisfy you from the amount of information and laughs that you get that would also leave you for more. It’s like a strategy to cliff hang audience, made them think stuffs like; Are there any other news about the country? I wonder how would they do about this one particular issue? Is this funny, too? They made the viewers curious for more.
From the 5 videos that I’ve watched in the video so far, it showed one same thing and that is showing a different perspective based from the audience reaction. These 5 videos somehow brought me in a different light, rather than focusing on this one particular point, you could go and understand another point. These 5 videos are; The Filipino spirit is waterproof, a barangay flooded from the storm that passed, they showed the smiles of the Filipinos even with the hard situation. Selfie muna bago…, showed the trendy animal pics with hilarious captions or could be called meme, they showed that humans could be in a situation that people would relate in a much easier way. Kiss me, it’s about Pres. Duterte’s fond of kissing women, they showed the different opinions of Filipinos; some agrees and some doesn’t. Baybayin, Filipinos were very happy to learn that Baybayin is now the national writing system that could be used by all, but they showed that Baybayin has different writing styles in different parts of the Philippines that would mean it could be hard for the Filipinos to follow up into it. This is like Japanese with writing style of Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji. Lastly but not the least is Single sa EDSA, now this was the cleverest one that I’ve watched. Single meant to be a vehicle but the show referred it as a person that is single, alone, and not in a relationship. They used hugot lines that people in this century use a lot. Not only that they have clever ideas but playful with the choice of words as well.
Word of the Lourd is a show that I’m sure millennials would enjoy, even the pre-millennials would enjoy it. This show goes with the trend, a clever and informative show that everyone should watch. It showed me that no matter how one particular thing would see in the eyes of the people, there will always be a part that you would also consider take notice and that part would change your perspective about it, making you a more open-minded, accepting and understanding person.
New teams assigned: *chants* I will not be the A-type personality control freak bitch, I will not be the A-type personality control freak bitch. . ." One day into teamwork: I will murder you all! Stand back while I do all of the work myself, I'll be damned if you mutherfuckers let my GPA drop.

Guide to a woman on her period:
A woman on her period can vary, but for comedy purpose we have chosen a select few stereotypes.
Example A:
We like food WE LOVE FOOD!
"Chocolate and marshmallows oooh honey maybe even some of those strawberry clouds? Pleaaaase! I love you c: Okay if you don't want to buy them then fuck you, I'll get em myself you asshole."
Example B:
Our libido is kind of all over the place...
One minute, its sex the next we're eating pizza off your back.
Example C:
Piss us off and we'll get really mad.
Even if we're not on our period and you accuse of being on it cause we're being 'moody' the above physical abuse will happen to you. So hopefully this helped ^-^
But hey, at least you're not pregnant? Right?
