Why votv is bad (hear me out)
Before anyone comes at me: This is a throwaway account. If you DM me threats or gore, I will publicly call you out. Also, it’s fine if you still enjoy VotV. I’m not here to dictate what you play. That’s your choice.
Now, the reason I’m making this post is simple: I’ve noticed more people on Tumblr discussing VotV’s issues, and honestly? I’m not surprised. As an ex-fan, it’s disappointing to see a once-interesting game spiral like this. Here are the three main reasons I quit:
1. The Fandom Has Become Toxic & Predatory
You can’t have an honest discussion about the game without being harassed. DrNose is treated like an infallible saint, any criticism of him is seen as blasphemy, which only fuels his ego. Worse, the fanbase is filled with minors interacting with grown-ass, horny adults who post inappropriate content around them. It’s gross, and the moderation does nothing to stop it.
2. The Game Is Being Filled With Pornographic Content
DrNose has a history of stuffing his games with weird erotic content (see: UDGame, where he added explicit models of Eerie). Now, based on leaks from Patrons and dataminers, he’s planning to push actual porn into VotV—a game supposedly about cosmic horror and signal hunting.
Let’s be real: The game already has:
Six-breasted catgirl aliens
A Discord server full of minors
Sure, the game is rated 17+, but that doesn’t stop kids from playing it or joining the Discord—which has zero disclaimers about the sexual content. How is this okay?
3. The Creator Enables Harassment & Censors Criticism
DrNose deletes any negative feedback and lets his server become a witch-hunting ground for anyone who criticizes the game. There’s documented proof of fans harassing, doxxing, and sending hate to critics on Discord, Reddit, and Tumblr.
If you’re still supporting this game, I urge you to reconsider donating to DrNose. The community is foul, the direction of the game is questionable at best, and at this rate, VotV is going to crash and burn before it even leaves early access.
This post isn’t about hating the game, it’s about calling out real issues that are driving former fans away. If you care about VotV, hold the developers accountable. Otherwise, this game is doomed to become another cautionary tale in indie dev disasters.
