Why is it getting so cold on a warmer earth?
Have you wondered why it has been so cold lately if you live in the northern regions of the united states, even though global temperatures are up 1.4° Fahrenheit? Well it all has to do with a natural air flow known as Polar Vortex , which is an upper level low-pressure area lying near the Earth's pole. Sometimes this polar vortex can weaken (it happened once in 2014) This causes the vortex to shift and move in unpredictable directions. Currently it is dipping down more into the United States, bringing colder arctic air down south.
This phenomenon only occurs in the united states, which may explain why so many Global Warming deniers live in the U.S.
