Help me figure out how I am going to do SCIENCE*!
Okay. I am in the market for a beefy machine, but I am trying to weigh how much RAM to get. I have some science I want to do, but cannot justify spending for 1TB from any vendor (they ask for like $4K minimum). Since polls are fun and I am a bit indecisive, how much RAM should a research machine have? I can find machines in my budget ($2.5K) with this amount of RAM. And no, I am not getting a beefy GPU off the bat. Might add later, but moreso for gaming instead of research.
