How to find a Date through Science Pt. 1
Finding dates can be difficult, especially when you're horrible at romance like me. Even more so if you’re also queer. But, over the years I have managed to turn my stupidity when it comes to romance, into knowledge of the science of romance. So, on this blog I will be teaching you, through the power of science, how to find and keep love in your lives.
Population
The first thing you need to figure out is how many potential partners are in your area. Here is an example of the math using the population of New York City. What we need first is the initial population.
NYC population (2014)- 8,491,079
Now we can widely that number down by age and gender. We’ll say, for example, you're looking for females between the ages of 15-19.
15-19 Females NYC- 235,417
Now, the difficult section, finding the percentage of people in that selection that are queer. Dating in the LGBT community has always been difficult for the reason that our dating pool is so small. Thankfully, our example of NYC has a fairly high percentage of queer women, totaling 3.8%.
Queer females~ 61,952
Okay, but how many of these women are single? 50.2% is the answer.
Single Queer Females~ 31,100
So, now that we have narrowed the population down to the available people that this example could potentially be attracted to, let's go a step further and discover approximately how many of those individuals you could actually have a good relationship with. First we’d need the percentage of people you are attracted to. Let's use 50% as an example. We’ll also go so far as to assume that about 50% of those people are attracted to you.
Attraction matches~ 7,775
Now, what percentage of people do you get along with. We’ll use 60% as our example and again assume that 60% of those people get along with you to give us our total number of potential partners.
Total potential partners~ 2,799
So, there you have it. Using science and mathematics you can deduce how many potential partners you have in any specific area. Next post I’ll talk about how yo find those people, how to get them to like you, and how to know if you'll be compatible for a long term relationship. Feel free to use this equation to determine you're own potential love matches in your city, or pm me if you have any questions. Thank you!
