Watch the total solar eclipse from 40,000 feet above the Earth. In this 360 degree experience, you will be able to look down and see the moon’s shadow move a...
We launched a our high altitude balloon during the Great American Solar Eclipse. We captured the eclipse on a 360 degree camera.
There was a large gust of wind and our first balloon took off with no payload. We did some quick calculations, cut off half the payload, grabbed a smaller balloon, and used all the helium we had left to capture this video. We launched half an hour later than we wanted, which is why we are in the clouds for part of it.
You can see the moon’s shadow move across the cloud tops. The sun becomes a small bright dot in the sky.
