Apropos of yesterday's Total Solar Eclipse, here's a story I wrote a couple years ago about slimegirl Cadet Eaurp Guz observing an eclipse in Italy in March 2379.
Earth is one of the only habitable planets in the known galaxy which has a satellite (Luna) with the same apparent size in the sky as its star (Sol). For this reason, during an eclipse of the Sun by the Moon, the entire outer atmosphere, or corona, of the Sun can be seen. This is of particular interest to Cadet Guz, whose homeworld doesn't even HAVE a moon, (and Cadet Martinez, who is FROM the Moon.)
