‘you ought to be asleep.’
Wearily looking in the voice’s direction, Maru shrugged a little and curled a little tighter against the back of the couch, pulling the blanket around himself more securely to ward against the chill in the air brought in by his companion’s entrance.
“As should you,” Maru replied a little impishly despite the tired lines in his shoulders and the shadows beneath his eyes. The gentle tone that had been taken with him suggested that there was more sympathy than accusation in the words from Thancred though so there was only teasing from the Miqo’te.
His mind raced with possibilities though and it was on the tip of his tongue to suggest that Thancred come help him get to sleep but that much at least, Maru held back and instead, despite the way it let the warmth rush out from beneath it, Maru held the corner of the blanket up and raised a questioning brow in the gunbreaker’s direction.
“Since neither of us is actually sleeping, care to join me? It’s warm~” And truthfully he’d like the company.
Darkness wraped around her like a vicious snake, but she cradled it to her bosom, for at that time it was her ally. The viera could swear it had been days and days, and she saw his face everywhere. Not once did their eyes meet however — it was angle here, another angle there, eyes cast down or staring at something oh so interesting in Ul’dah’s sky. She could put the pieces together and make up his face in her mind — like a puzzle. But she feared to see the result, for it would mean her worst fear realized. He’d been following her after all.
Llun only came to the Sapphire Avenue after the dark. Not only it meant less heat, but also less eyes. She picked just the time before most of the merchants would head home, asked a few questions here and there and disappeared back into the darkness.
And this day was supposed to be no different, only her senses were strangely alert and the viera’s ears twitched at the slightest sounds under her shawl. She’d slap them if she could.
@scior
& @scior / WITCHER STARTERS. / ❝ i feel i shall die a broken hearted man. ❞
“ And why is that? “ the viera chuckled softly, blue eyes sparkling with amusement. “ I think a lad such as yourself will be the cause of broken hearts, rather than the other way ‘round. “ One could swear, she even blushed at that, but who could tell? For right after speaking the words, the pinkish hues of her cheeks was hidden behind veil of flowing hair as Llun shook her head. As if amused.
“Take care of yourself.”
“When the alternative is dying out there on my own and not coming back to you? I will be certain to take every precaution,” he replied teasingly though truthfully he wouldn’t put it past the worried scion to go looking for him if he didn’t return in a timely manner.
Stepping up beside the fair haired Hyur, Maru slid a hand to the man’s shoulder, squeezing gently. “Watch over the others for me and don’t get into any trouble that I’m not around to get you out of,” he warned with a small grin.
Lowering his hand and adjusting his pack over his shoulders, he continued on past the Hyur with a light brush of his tail against the man’s side in parting.
@scior asked : ❛ if i can still breathe , i’m fine . ❜ ( sentence prompt // accepting ).
“breathing usually predates the whole not breathing part” with a sigh she pulls the bandages tighter around him, perhaps tighter than necessary. honestly, what is she to do with the scions? one more reckless than the other. not that amaya has much, or any, room to talk.
rubbing the bridge of her nose, blue eyes look back at thancred with a mix of irritation and worry. “first y’shtola pulling the same trick again with hiding in the lifestream and now you are getting hurt too” there is a moment of hesitation before she continues to speak “you know I am not fighting for something grand like ‘the world’, right? I am mostly fighting because I don’t want to lose all of you... so don’t make it so hard. I’d be useless if I’d lose any of you.”
now that is enough vulnerability in her book! clearing her voice she quickly stands up, one hand against her hips and grinning “I’ll tell ryne that she can help taking care of you and if you so much as try to stand up, she has my full permission to use crocodile tears to make you feel bad”
scior: I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
xel is an awkward bean in general sometimes and she worries about thancred A LOT so this is what you get! her saying she’ll do her best to show he can trust her! even though she does so much to justify it but she worries!
@scior started following you
“Ah, Master Thancred. Tis an honor to have your company once more. And in standing health, thank the Fury.” The young Lord Commander gave a respectful bow and a gentle smile his way, cerulean eyes glittering with humble kindness.
“After such a long slumber i’m sure you were all but itching to find the fray again.” He mused with a soft chuckle. Ushering the man into his office he offered him a seat at his desk before taking his own with a curt nod of greeting.
“How was your travels my good man? Not too troublesome I hope. Oh yes and what news from the Empire? I heard from our many reports you've wanders about that territory. Pray, be weary. Those lands seem unpredictable. More so than usual lately...”
