how could u, dowothea --- u know how that makes me FEEL !
c.c. voice: r00d to push the one who gave you power into a car full of tomatoes. I do love pizza, but becoming a part of it was never in my death plan.
“You’re overreacting.” It was just a car full of tomatoes. Nothing harmful. If anything, it’s her that killed all those poor tomatoes. Nevermind the fact that they’re freshly gathered and all. He could only feel pity towards the produce, but never towards this woman. At least not for today. He laughed briefly before walking pass her, seemingly casting aside her complaint. “As they say, you are what you love. You should be thanking me.”

A small chuckle left the Count as a few of the nobles steered away from him and by extension the young songstress. He certainly gave off that kind of air quite easily so it was no surprise that people wanted to avoid the dark gentleman despite the fine garb he wore that looked so regal in appearance. But his eyes told a much different tale and were the eyes of a man accustomed to violent delights as much as any other.
“Then call me Count instead, Miss Dorothea. I am the Count of Monte Cristo. Do me the honor of letting me take you home and I will tell you my full name. Is that fair?”
It was a cheap move, that was true, but hopefully his first move had ingratiated him to her enough. He had no ulterior motive than to speak to her about her craft and maybe learn a bit more about the entrancing singer.
“If I were to ask you out on a date, would your answer be the same as the answer to this question?”

oh my. if this was what she believed it was … she could already feel her cheeks heating up. they had been dancing around this topic, their relationship really. it was more than just simple friends, best friends didn’t sound right either ( not with how fast her heart would beat, not with the kisses she’d give, however innocent they were on the cheek ). of course, actually asking to be more wasn’t the question. it was an offer of a date.
❛ y-yes. the answer would be yes. ❜ she paused before quickly ducking her head. how she worded her answer made it sound like she was accepting something more … solid. something that would have to do with the ring that was given to dorothea.

"I know that we must fight to survive," Dorothea said as she hugged her knees as she was sitting on the stairs that were leading down. The last battle made her think twice before doing anything. She couldn't die, but this endless battle was becoming worse and worse with each month. "I kill and survive, I fight and survive, I take another's life in exchange for my own. In opera, it's almost beautiful. In ral life, it's terrifying, Caspar. That's why I don't know what to do now. What is right?"

“Dorothea…” Caspar was unsure how to answer his friend. These last five years had taken a toll on everyone. But Dorothea seemed to have taken it the hardest. The casual optimism that had inspired him during their academy years, all but seemingly disappeared. Where was that young woman that had teased him so eagerly way back when? War had consumed her. That smile that he often look forward to seeing, or dreaded depending on what she wanted at the time was all but a rarity nowadays. Caspar sits himself next to Dorothea, and stares down at the ground in front of them.
“You know… I’ve always just done what was in front of me. If someone was in trouble, I’d go save them. But here you are now, wallowing in your own sadness… and I can’t do a thing. The last thing I want to do is lie to you, Dorothea. And… I don’t really have an answer to give you. Because that’s something you have to come up with on your own. I can’t give you one that’ll satisfy you.” He looks up at her with those passionate eyes of his, unwavering in his belief. “I actually thought I was about to be kicked out of the army.” The young man said so abruptly.
“I just kept doing what I did, trying to do my best to save all that I can even if it meant disobeying orders… Five years ago, I thought I made a mistake of chasing away this dangerous man with a scorpion tattoo… I was afraid that he’d harm a bunch of innocent children. The Professor told me to be careful… and that man ended up committing suicide. He was a villain, sure… I was correct in my assumption but that ended up being fatal. A bunch of knights got killed by the same gang that man was in… and I couldn’t help think that maybe, just maybe… that if I sat back and watched instead of jumping straight in, we would have found out more about this gang. Those knights’ lives were on me but… in the end, I decided that the life of those children were more important to me.” Caspar explained. He had a lot to think about, despite seemingly never changing.
“It might sound cruel, and I was ready to leave the army because of those actions but.. the Professor kept me from going. And what I’m trying to say is… we can’t ever be sure if we’re right. We’ll always have to keep going, trying to find the best course of action… or the one you believe in the most.” Caspar said sincerely. He was usually not one for words… but Dorothea needed him to be a man she can rely on. And that is exactly what he’ll be at this very moment.
“…Have you considered taking a leave of absence? Dorothea… I’m worried for you. You’re just not the same anymore. And you know I can’t lie to you… I miss the you back then. Nowadays, you’re just sighing. Your eyes are lifeless, and the smile you wore with pride back then rarely ever appears.” There was great sadness in his voice… truly, he loved Dorothea the way she was. “I’m your friend. Nothing’s ever going to change that so rely on me. I’ll shoulder your burdens with you. Don’t just take it on your own, okay? I… I can’t bear seeing you like this! And you might hate me for saying this, but all this war just doesn’t seem like something you even wanted to do in the first place. Your heart’s just not in it… so retire. Or take a break. If you don’t… I’m afraid you’ll destroy yourself if you keep going on like this. If you don’t want to quit, then fine. I’ll watch over you. I’ll do the things you don’t want to do and I’ll do anything I have to do to save you from losing yourself again!. Let me be there for you, Dorothea. That’s my proposal to you… My sincere promise!”
