Repeal 377A and legalise same-sex marriage in Singapore

Currently, same-sex marriage is illegal in Singapore. Section 377A of the Penal Code, which dates back to when Singapore was a British colony, also states that "any male person who, in public or private, commits, or abets the commission of, or procures or attempts to procure the commission by any male person of, any act of gross indecency with another male person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years."

The government has recently opened up to public consultation, meaning that they will consider feedback with regards to the Penal Code. As such, I would be submitting my petition to legalise same-sex marriage and repeal section 377A of the Penal Code.

Submissions are due on 30 September 2018, and hence I really need to collect as many signatures I can before the time is up. I need all the help I can get, and would really appreciate everyone who signs and reblogs this!

Dear Headmistress,

This coming school year is approaching quite quickly and I find that I am without resources to avoid this letter any longer. It would appear that this summer opened my families eyes to many situations we had not been prepared to be faced with. The home situation of my young second cousin is extreamly dangerous and we were forced to remove him from his mother’s care. I am sure you are aware of this as I received scorpius’ Hogwarts letter to my home.

The healers at St. Mungos have suggested we wait a few days after start of term to have him rejoin his housemates for the year. I agree to an extent but as I am now head of Hufflepuff house and unable to remain with him I must inform you that until he is cleared to return to school he will be staying here under the care of Victorie. We have been granted rights to become temporary guardians of him as the Wizangamot has decided to investigate Draco for his involvement in the raising of his son.

I will return to the grounds early August 20th to speak with you as priviously requested last term. I feel that alongside the purposes reasons for our meeting I have a great deal of information to discuss with you as well. Things I feel should be brought to your attention as I am unaware of how to act on it.
