Scott Orr- In the Belly of a Whale

I haven't been posting here as much as I would like, mainly because I'm trying to catch up on a lot of other work. I've been trying to finish editing a ton of photos from this past summer, as well as tracking live shows I recorded this past summer. That backlog has lead to me neglecting a few other things, such as this site. I'm reaching the end of most of those other projects (within the next couple weeks), so hopefully this site will see more activity at that point. In the meantime, check out this song I've really been digging this song by Canadian singer/songwriter Scott Orr.

Scott Orrは「Quiet Corner 2」にも取り上げられている、カナダはハミルトン在住のオルタナ・フォーク・シンガーです。しかし昨今のアーティストとしては、それ以外に彼に関する情報が、この時代には驚くほどネット上に乏しいのです。優しく撫でるような、メランコリックな旋律は、聴くものの脳裏に切ない感情をもたらします。そしてその歌声はスモーキーで、壊れそうに繊細で、臆面もないほど甘美であり、柔らかく震えるビブラートも美しい余韻を残します。余白を感じさせるジャジーでシャイニーなサウンドは、メロウかつフォーキーな印象なのですが、このアルバムは、「死」、「地球」、「来世」などについての作品であるとのこと。であればこそなのでしょうか、記憶の底辺を優しくくすぐるような音楽です。
