Rodger That!
Whether it was winning his High School Championship (Central High School) or playing ball overseas (Minas) in Brazil; this pleasant and talented player is the epitome of success. Scott Rodgers, a Philly native was able to share with me his take on what it means to "Wynn" in your Career & in Life.
Growing up with family as his source of inspiration, Scott was determined to make basketball his prime focus. By practicing and developing his skills, he was able to embark on a prosperous career. "One word to describe myself, is confident". Scott explains, my mother encouraged me to be dedicated, she's the reason why I play today. She would take me to the local recreation center and that's when I fell in love with basketball. My mother believed in me, before I knew of my own potential.
While Speaking with Scott I realized the importance of having a solid foundation. Having family/friends there to uplift you and hold you accountable when trying to pursue your dreams, is key. We all need supportive people in our corners to challenge us to push beyond our comfort zones. More importantly, the support can go a long way, it helps you find your calling. I promise you! It rids the mind of limitations, and the fear of dis-empowering beliefs.
Confucius once said, "The Will to Win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential; these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence". And while I agree with Confucius, I also believe that your desire to win, derives from positive influences of your inner circle.
