To be quite honest, Jim Steinman had a great career as you can see from my examples of his opus, but there are some collaborations that didn’t happen. For instance, one of the biggest surprises might be the fact he produced a demo for Iron Prostate, who were a punk band, I think, and whose song he worked on included a dig at the leading member of a famous band. Truth to be told, I find this quite amusing – I’m unsure how Steinman ended up on the composition and why he didn’t work on the official single –, because the over the top shenanigans and the lyrics form an are-they-serious-or-what vibe you cannot really comprehend. Yes, you have to admire the audacity of Steinman to try his hand at a genre that mocked what he did.
