Scott scoped the room-or at least he tried to. He was called a lightweight cutie before; even if he didn’t like that, it was partly true. He was on his second beer and ordered a glass of water on the side. The event seemed to be moving smoothly, but Scott was all nerves that he just barely knew everyone. That’s what happens when you move out of your parents’ house, drop out of college, apply to another one, get accepted and have two part time jobs, in a new city, live for the first time in an apartment alone...and also first time, he was paying his own rent. He was definitely needing both of the beers. Maybe a few more. Besides the lack of free time, you get to meet a lot of people. But it seemed like he was having too many new things at the same time. It was quite brave of him to do all that and he now had to live through the consequences.
His eyes spotted a few of the fellow students-which seemed as shy as he was. They were actually freshmen, though-he didn’t really consider himself a freshman, since he lived a good amount of time in college, before applying to something that he actually wanted. They seemed so oblivious...it seemed kind of adorable to him. But, then again, he felt like he wasn’t able to approach them. Even with the liquid courage running through his veins.
Suddenly, a much familar presence appeared around so many people. It was his English Lit professor. He didn’t know why he chose English Lit at this point, but he promised himself he will do whatever he wanted, and he would try to talk about his past in pre-Law and Law School less and less. Trying to push it away and hoping it won’t come back to bite him. He would probably minor in English Lit or double major with Music, which was something he always wanting to do-either become a composer or just a Music teacher. He wasn’t meant for the lawyer life: the tense but the easy way his parents have paved on to work in their company.
He didn’t realize how his legs just worked faster than his brain; he would never approach a professor, but yet... He did seem younger than most professors and quite close to his age...? He smiled widely, the closer he got, hoping the other man won’t have a problem with talking with him. “Hello-how are you?”, plain and simple and somehow not regretting it.
