written for: day five of Scott McCall Rarepair Week; favorite MOGAI/LGBT ship.      

summary: In which Scott decides to try and do something special for their fourth anniversary (and ends up burning his palms, ruining the cake and ending up in bed with the two of them anyways).

"Mom, I don't think I'm doing this right."

"What does it look like now?" Scott glances down into the contents of the giant mixing bowl sitting on the counter. He's been stirring for at least five minutes but his cake batter is still lumpy and, weirdly enough, looks almost orange, although he supposes that the color might just be a trick of the terrible kitchen lighting.

(It definitely isn't.)

"Kind of like Play-Doh, actually," he sighs, prodding the mixture with his wooden spoon. "I read the instructions, I swear."

"I believe you," his mom replies. "Did you measure everything properly?"

"I think so." The entire counter is strewn with measuring cups and cutlery, all of it so covered in flour and food that, truth be told, Scott can't really remember what he used for the cake and what he used for the lasagna currently sitting in the oven.

"Maybe I should have just bought one," he groans, dropping the spoon into the bowl and pushing it aside.

"You probably still have time," his mom says. "Isn't there a Dairy Queen just down the road from you guys?"

"Yeah, I'm not sure if they're..." Before Scott can finish his sentence, he pauses, nose twitching. Something has changed, something in the room's atmosphere and after a second, he realizes that it's a smell, a wrong smell.

More specifically, it's smoke.

"Mom, I gotta go, love you!" he says in one breath, ending the call and tossing his phone onto the kitchen table as he whips around. There's thick, acrid smoke creeping out of the oven and when he opens the door, a cloud of it hits him right in the face. He buries his face in his sleeve and yanks the pan out of the oven. He can feel the skin on his palms blistering and burning but he manages to hold on long enough to open the balcony door and toss the whole pan outside. One quick glance is all it takes to determine that the pan is probably ruined; it looks like there's cheese literally embedded in the sides and there are some nasty scorch marks dotting it.

Scott groans, wincing as the skin on his palms begins to heal. Of all the days for him to screw up so spectacularly, it would be on his and Stiles and Isaac's anniversary.

The apartment is flooded with smoke and Scott opens every window before he peers back in the oven, using a dishtowel to wave away more smoke. It looks mostly undamaged, although there's some cheese melted onto the bottom rack. He groans again and grabs his phone to check the time. He's pretty sure that the Dairy Queen closes at seven. If he jumps a few fences and hops a few rooftops, he might be able to make it before-

"Stiles, do you smell smoke?"

The voice is coming from the hallway and before Scott can get to his feet, the door flies open. There's a sharp crunch as the doorknob collides with the wall, creating a hole to replace the one that they just patched.

"Scott?" Isaac yells, coughing slightly. Even over the smell of smoke, Scott can catch the sharp scent of fear coming from the living room.

"In here!" he calls, just as Isaac slides into the kitchen.

"What happened?" Isaac asks. "Are you alright?" His exact words are echoed by Stiles a few seconds later. He sounds slightly out of breath and his arms are laden with a number of large plastic bags.

"I'm fine," Scott says with a shrug, holding up his palms to show off the almost healed skin, still pink around the edges. "I tried to cook." Both Stiles and Isaac turn to look at the mess strewn across the counter. After a moment, Stiles starts laughing. He slides the bags off his arms and onto the floor before he presses himself against Scott's side, forehead resting against Scott's shoulder.

"Man," he says, pointing at the oven, "how did that happen?"

"Is that batter meant to be orange?" Isaac asks, frowning down at the mixing bowl.

"It's the lighting," Scott says quickly. Isaac simply raises an eyebrow before he dips his finger into the bowl, bringing up a lump of batter. As soon as his tongue brushes it, he shudders slightly.

"You didn't have to go all out for us, you know," Stiles says. "Right, Isaac?" Isaac nods and crosses the kitchen, pressing himself against Scott's front, slinging his arm around Stiles' waist.

"I know," Scott says. "But I wanted to do something special. Seemed right, for four years."

"Maybe we should save the real special stuff for five years," Isaac says, dropping his hand to Scott's hip. "Or for tomorrow, at least."

"Isaac and I got takeout from that awesome Italian place by the school," Stiles murmurs against Scott's neck. "And a cake from Dairy Queen. Will that work for tonight?" Scott nods, breath hitching as Isaac leans down and presses a kiss to the underside of his jaw.

"Yeah," he says, smoothing one hand down Isaac's chest and hooking the other into Stiles' belt loops. "Maybe we should put the cake in the freezer first. Just for now."

"Food should probably go in the fridge too," Isaac says, words hot against Scott's ear. "Might taste like smoke otherwise."

"We might taste like smoke," Stiles says, pulling away and yanking the cake out of one of the plastic bags, "unless we get away from the kitchen ASAP. Like, now."

As it turns out, their bedroom has (mostly) escaped the deluge of smoke.

By the time they make it back out to the kitchen, the cake batter is hard as a rock and the apartment almost smells normal again.

in 4x08 scott has a vision in which he attacks his boyfriend, jordan, and his girlfriend, kira. he awakes from his magically-induced coma to find that they’re alright. they’re relieved to find that he’s alive, as well.

The Scott/Kira/Stiles prompt thing. You should do them doing something illegal again. At adorable Kira's insistence because she seemed to get such a rush out of it when they snuck into the police station. And Stiles is all cool with it because well, Stiles but Scott trails after his two deviants saying stuff such as 'This is a bad idea. And it's wrong. We shouldn't do this.' But he helps anyways because he loves them.

okay i didn’t follow your prompt exactly because im trash, but this was definitely inspired by this prompt. this is also for scott mccall rare pair week even though it doesn’t exactly fit into today’s theme. (I guess it kind of could though??) 

“How would you feel about Kira joining in on our mischief night pranks this year?” Scott asks. “I know it’s kind of our thing, so no pressure to say yes, but she’s been dying to do something else since that night we broke into the police station.”

“That’d be okay,” Stiles says, and it actually is. Which is kind of weird for him because until recently he only would have said it was okay to make Scott happy, but now, well, now he kind of has a huge crush on Kira. Scott too, but he’s been harboring that one since the sixth grade so it’s nothing new.

They all meet in front of the school at midnight. Kira’s dressed in all black including a black beanie shoved down over her hair and it’s kind of ridiculously cute. It’s totally unnecessary probably, because Stiles and Scott have never gotten caught as long as they’ve been doing this, but it’s still cute.

“So,” Kira says. “What’s the plan?”

“Stiles and I left a window open in the boys locker room,” Scott says. “It’s this way,” he adds, and then he leads the way around the back of the school and over to an open window.

“You first,” Stiles says. “Scott and I can help you in if you need.”

“Thanks, but I think I’m good,” Kira says, and then she grabs onto the bottom of the window and lifts herself through it.

“All right,” Stiles says. “My turn.” He doesn’t make it in quite as easily as Kira seemed to, but he doesn’t need Scott’s help so he considers it a win.

Scott joins them in the locker room a few seconds later, and Stiles says, “Okay, now we need to get to Coach’s office.”

He leads the way, and then after taking a couple of minutes to pick the lock, dramatically swings the door open. Kira and Scott walk through, with Stiles following close behind and then he drops his backpack to the floor. “Okay, so, first,” he says, pulling out stacks and stacks of sticky notes from his backpack. “Put these everywhere. Just completely cover as much of his office as you can with them.”

Kira and Scott both grin and then get to work. Stiles takes a screwdriver out of his backpack after that and gets to work on his task, removing just enough screws in all of the office furniture to keep it standing temporarily, but make it fall as soon as Coach touches any of it.

All three of them work in relative silence, only speaking if they need help with something, and when they’re done they step back to admire their work.

“You guys did awesome,” Stiles says. Every inch of the walls are covered in hundreds upon hundreds of sticky notes, along with a layer of them over all of the stuff on Coach’s desk.

“And you’re sure you took out enough screws for everything to fall apart when he touches it?” Scott asks.

“Yeah, I’m sure.” Stiles nods, and then adds, “We should go before we get caught.”

They head back toward the locker room, climbing back out the window.

“That was awesome,” Kira says, as soon as they’re all safely out of the school. “Such a rush. I can’t wait to see his reaction.” She’s bouncing up and down and then she surges in to kiss Scott.

Stiles watches them for a moment, but then he has to turn away. So he’s surprised a moment later when suddenly Kira is bouncing into his space. Then she’s leaning in and before he knows it they’re kissing too, and after a moment of surprise Stiles eagerly kisses her back.

When she finally pulls away Stiles’ jaw drops in surprise and she laughs as she says, “Oops.”

“Um,” Stiles says. “What was that?”

“That was totally not how we meant to do this,” Kira says.

“Wait, we?” Stiles asks, barely daring to get his hopes up.

“Yeah,” Scott says, “We.”

“What’s going on?” Stiles asks.

“We were supposed to all go out for pancakes or something and talk about this,” Scott says. “But, uh, Kira and I both really like you. And we’ve been wondering if maybe you’d be our boyfriend?”

“Really?” Stiles asks. “Both of you?”

“Yeah,” Scott says. He’s smiling and it’s soft and a little shy and it’s ridiculous, and Stiles has an overwhelming urge to kiss him. So he does. Scott’s smiling into the kiss for the first couple of seconds and it’s such a Scott thing to do, but then he’s kissing him back and Stiles just melts into it.

When they pull apart from each other, Kira says, “So, I’m guessing that’s a yes.”

“Yeah,” Stiles says. “That’s a yes.”

They all just grin at each other for a second, still riding a little bit of an adrenaline high, and then Scott slings an arm around both of their shoulders and says, “Come on. We should get out of here before we get caught.”

“Looks like.” Scott repeats. He tries not to sound so sullen but he obviously fails when Isaac squeezes his right hand.
