Inej, Nina, Jesper, and Kaz are all bi, but show their pride in different ways.
Nina and Jesper go all out; they dye each other's hair the bi flag colors, paint the bi flag on one cheek and the trans flag on the other, wear capes of the flags, make signs with catchy slogans. They fight to lead the parade with everything they got. They want to be the faces that show up in the newspapers, beaming and joyful and, yes, proud of everything bi and trans mean and stand for.
Inej and Kaz like to remain faceless in the crowd. They wear smaller, quieter accessories; a bi pride necklace, or a bi flag wristband. One year, Kaz allows Nina to convince them to paint their nails in the bi colors. But both of them prefer to detail security; that is how they honor Pride, by serving so their friends can celebrate.
(And who doesn't want to celebrate by punching an asshole square in the face?)
Wylan is proud of being gay, and he enjoys the celebration -- enjoys the feeling of community that comes with Pride. But he's the type to volunteer, to pass out pamphlets or water bottles or anything else the organization needs. When the bi float comes by, he always high-fives Jesper. Sometimes Jesper swings down to plant a big kiss on his lips, and it's embarrassing and sweet and makes butterflies in Wylan's stomach, and the crowd always cheers just a bit louder every time.
Kuwei's also gay, but he's more interested in organizing a Pride book club than getting involved in the parade itself. He meets a surprising amount of friends this way, and becomes more sociable around other bookworms than he thought he could. One of the new members also starts a Pride movie club, and Kuwei finds himself (not unfortunately) dragged into it.
Matthias is only really comfortable stealthing, and Pride is always a bit too loud for him anyway. He uses small accessories of either the trans flag or the trans symbol that won't draw attention, and only in certain circles and only during Pride month. But he always makes sure that by the time the gang is back, the home is warm, the boiler's on for the showers they'll take, and dinner's ready. Not that he cooks it, but he'll order food for them. It isn't much, but it's all they'd ever ask of him.
