Ok but fr at the end of their story they (literally) can’t live without the other, so I’m assuming for the purposes of the ask that one is dying (the one giving the message) and the other will survive without them.

Raymond to Yumi: “Take my keys and my wallet, everything I own is yours, now. River fields is yours— I’m so sorry. Yumi to Raymond: “Whatever happens from here on out, remember that I knew you completely and loved all of you. Do what you have to do to survive, like you always have. Just know that you have my blessing, wherever I end up. Please don’t stop fighting. If anyone can figure out how to end this, I know it’s you. And I’ll find my way back to you someday, I promise. Even if I have to fight my way out of hell, I’ll do it. I love you so much.”

Yumi could never forgive Raymond for cheating/developing a porn habit, becoming demeaning or otherwise using their power imbalance to break her down, beating/hitting her, or attempting to kill her without discussing it with her first (ik these bitches insane)

Raymond’s list is much shorter because he’s a doormat but genuinely the big one would be getting the cops involved with their situation/the mortuary. He would also struggle if yumi cheated, but would be way more understanding (he knows [???] she can do better than him, but the resulting jealousy/insecurity would break their relationship). An attempt on his life would (did) rattle him, but even if the demon Krakish wasn’t involved he’d find a way to rationalize it. I mean it’s pretty easy when he’s up to Raymond delver things, he knows this.

Throughout it all he could only hope she was okay. That Aster, now knowing what he is, kept her safe. That was enough to keep him holding on for a while. But humans have their limits, and eventually due to all the time he spent separated from his light, the seed of darkness in his soul simply grew.

-- A seed that grows without light.

The assassin knew she would need to leave eventually, alone, and aimed to take her before she left the sanctum. Successfully. He was unsure how well the sleeping substance would catch her, relief only taking away that slight concern when she finally fell.

"Yes, a CAGE," his voice, barely a whisper, replied while he still hid in darkness. His tone seemed normal enough but there was something seemingly off about it. A quiet distortion.

He soon started to sneak over to the cage, coming from the opposite way she was facing and not letting any any of his presence known until he took a dagger and struck one of the bars, causing a slight cling though the dreaded silence-- Finally indicating that he was there.

The assassin's eyes were the familiar scarlet hue, yet no seals were unlocked. No-- The eye shade was changed simply by the increased taint impacting his mind, and body. Permanently dying the emerald? Perhaps, as long as the taint got the better of him at least. He hadn’t even changed from his assassination attire; forsaking the mask for his occasion, Kare hadn’t wore anything else in such a long time, he had almost forgot about the need for other clothing.

And so, the scar he long kept hidden from her was on full display.

He hadn't noticed. His main focus was the idea of locking her safely away. Away from them, away from the dangers of the outside world. His drive to protect her corrupted into obsession. The assassin wore a smirk on his face at the fact he plan was coming together.
