Y/n Maybank had just finished her shift at the local diner and was walking home, lost in her thoughts. She had sensed a growing tension in the town ever since the new round of murders had started, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
As she turned a corner, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. She quickened her pace, but the footsteps only grew louder. She turned around and saw a figure approaching her, his face obscured by the shadows.
"Who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling.
The figure stepped closer, revealing himself to be Rafe Cameron, Sarah's brother. Y/n had always been wary of him, sensing a dark energy and hostility beneath his calm exterior.
"You shouldn't be out here alone, Y/n," Rafe said, his voice cold and menacing. "It's not safe."
"What do you want?" Y/n asked, taking a step back.
"I just want to talk," Rafe said, taking another step forward. "About your brother JJ."
Y/n felt a chill run down her spine. She had a bad feeling about this.
"What about him?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
Rafe suddenly lunged at her, grabbing her by the throat and pinning her against the wall. Y/n gasped for air, her heart pounding in her chest.
"You and JJ have caused us enough pain," Rafe growled. "But don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. Not yet, anyway. My sister wants you alive, just long enough to send a message to your brother."
Y/n struggled against Rafe's grip, but he was too strong. She felt his hand tighten around her throat, cutting off her air supply. Her vision began to blur, and she knew she was in serious trouble.
Just then, a car screeched to a halt behind them, and the sound of a door opening echoed through the street. Rafe quickly released Y/n and disappeared into the shadows, leaving her gasping for air and shaking with fear.
She turned around and saw her brother JJ getting out of the car, his face etched with worry and concern.
"Y/n, are you okay?" he asked, rushing to her side.
Y/n could barely speak, but she managed to nod her head. She knew that the nightmare in The Outerbanks was far from over, and that she and her brother were in grave danger.
The Next Night:
Y/ns home phone rings, you roll your eyes seeing its a blocked number.
Tonight she’s home alone, her father being out on a fishing trip. While JJ picked up a late shift at the Country Club.
Texting Sophia with a smile on her face, "You should come over here" three circles pop up telling her she's typing.
"Convince me?" She huffs at her response, now leaning on the kitchen counter while she waits for your macaroni to cook.
"I'm home alone" y/n goes to reply back with a smirk emoji, now pacing back an forth waiting for her to message her back.
"Gotta do better" she huff at that, looking around the kitchen for a second then shaking her head at yourself. She’s home alone, she can do what ever she wants.
Y/n then takes her phone and put it under her shirt and snap a pic with the devil emoji.
"Sold!!" Sofia relies and y/n bites her lip, silently cheering at herself.
That little distraction made her forget that she was cooking dinner as her pot boils over.
"oh shit!" Y/n says to herself, taking it off the element and straining it.
As she begin s to clean up her mess your home phone rings again giving her a fright.
Y/n curses again, texting Sophia "Fucking landline won't stop ringing".
She picks up the phone annoyed, “Hello y/n” the person on the other end greets.
“Who’s this?” looking out at the id and its unknown.
Only hearing breathing on the other end, she threatens them “I swear if you don’t start talking I will hang up”.
“Fine, how’s your night been y/n?” they ask, She tilts her head at them as they continue, “anything planned for tonight?”
She looks up at the clock on her microwave, “yeah actually, my friends are coming over. She’ll be here any minute” now walking over to prepare some popcorn.
“Who Sophia?” you pause,
“How’d you know?”Y/n’s eyes fluttering at them.
“I know everything about you y/n” they state, she just roll your eyes.
“John B if that’s you, I swear I will-” she comments back, taking out your phone to text John.
“It's not John B” they say back,
“Then who are you? Why are you calling me?” Y/n asks, texting Sarah about her current conversation.
“Let’s just say i’m a concerned neighbor”
Y/n’s phone vibrates indicating a text from Sarah asking if she’s okay, texting back a thumbs up emoji.
“What do you want?”
“I want to know what you’re doing tonight? Especially all alone in your house”
Y/n looks down to your phone and Sarah asks if she want her to come over.
“I told you, my friends coming over” She goes to slam a door, “in fact that should be her right now”
“Don’t lie to me y/n” Y/n goes to stop again,
“Sophia’s not coming” they answer back as she cringes at them.
“What do you mean?” Y/n again texts Sophia asking how far away she is.
“y/n, does Sarah know you’ve been hooking up with Sophia?” The sound of popcorn popping gives you a fright.
With your silence the person on the phone repeats their question, “So, what are you doing tonight y/n?”
“I thought you said you knew everything about me?” Y/n wittily answers back,
“I do, just one thing?”
“What?” She rolls your eyes, wanting to hang up on them.
Your phone vibrates, Sarah texts you again asking if you want her to come over.
“I-I guess” She answer’s back realizing they’re quoting the movie.
“I can see your screen, so you’re a fan?” Y/n looks around slowly walking to her front door locking it.
“What do you want?” She jiggles the door making sure it's secure.
“Just making sure you’re safe”
“What?”
“There’s some dangerous people out there y/n”
“You shouldn’t be home alone”
“Just get to the point,” she releases a groan, walking around to look out your window seeing if there’s anyone peeping around.
“Have you seen stab before y/n?” they ask,
“Once maybe, Sophia wanted us to binge the series tonight” she says walking back to the kitchen, grabbing a knife from the drawer.
“Do you remember the originals?”
“Not really, it’s super 90s, everyone had weird hair” she holds the knife firmly looking out the kitchen window.
“I know your brothers a fan, he talks about it all the time” they murmur, Y/n roll your eyes at that.
“That’s a lie, JJ hates the stab movies”
“haha, you live in the outer banks where the series is based, how can he hate those movies?”
“He just does, so I guess you don’t know him as well as you think” she laughs at the person on the other end.
“So, you remember the beginning of the stab movies?”
“That’s the kill scene right? They always start with the kill scene”
“That’s right, it’s a girl who’s home alone. She answers the wrong number and starts talking with the killer, who makes her play a game. Would you like to play a game y/n?”
Y/n finally hangs up, texting Sophia about locking the door and texting Sarah back, maybe she should come over. She walks to the living room and close the curtain.
Receiving a text from Sarah, “Answer the phone"
Y/n felt her heart begin to race.
Suddenly, there was a loud banging at the front door. Y/n jumped up from the couch, her heart pounding in her chest.
"Who's there?" she called out, her voice quivering.
There was no answer, only the sound of footsteps approaching the door. Y/n grabbed a kitchen knife and slowly made her way to the door, her breathing coming in short gasps.
As she peered through the peephole, she saw a figure in a ghostly mask standing on her porch. The figure raised a knife and began to stab at the door, shattering the glass and sending Y/n reeling backwards.
She ran to the phone, her hands shaking as she tried to dial for help. But the line was dead, and the figure had already entered the house.
Y/n felt a scream building in her throat as she tried to flee, but the figure was too quick. It chased her through the house, its knife glinting in the moonlight.
As Y/n stumbled through the darkened rooms, she realized that she was trapped. She had nowhere to go and no one to help her.
The figure loomed over her, its eyes glowing with a sickening glee.
"Welcome to the party, Y/n," it hissed. "You're the guest of honor."
Y/n had managed to escape from the killer's grasp and run out of the house. She was now hiding behind a nearby dumpster, gasping for breath and trying to calm herself down.
As she peeked around the corner, she saw the figure in the ghostly mask stalking through the darkened streets, its knife glinting in the moonlight.
Y/n knew that she had to keep moving, that she couldn't stay in one place for too long. She cautiously made her way out of the alley and onto the main road, hoping to find a place to hide.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her leg, and stumbled to the ground. Looking down, she saw that the killer had thrown a knife at her, which was now embedded in her flesh.
Y/n knew that she had to get the knife out and keep moving. She gritted her teeth and pulled the knife out of her leg, ignoring the searing pain.
As she struggled to her feet, she saw the figure in the ghostly mask getting closer and closer. She knew that she had to keep running, that her life depended on it.
She sprinted down the street, the pain in her leg making it difficult to move. She could hear the killer's footsteps closing in on her, and she knew that she was running out of time.
Just as she was about to collapse, she saw a familiar figure approaching in the distance. It was her brother, JJ.
"JJ!" she called out, tears streaming down her face. "Help me!"
JJ saw the killer coming towards them and pulled out his own knife, ready to defend his sister.
The killer lunged at them, but JJ managed to dodge and strike back, their knives clashing in a shower of sparks.
Y/n's heart was pounding in her chest as she watched her brother JJ fight for their lives against the killer. She could barely move, her leg still bleeding profusely from where the killer had thrown a knife at her earlier.
As JJ's knife clashed with the killer's, Y/n managed to crawl away, desperate to get help. She pulled out her phone and dialed her friend Sophia's number.
"Hey, Y/n! What's up?" Sophia answered cheerfully.
"Sophia, listen to me, don't come over! There's someone after me, they're trying to kill me and JJ!" Y/n gasped, her voice shaking with fear.
"What? Oh my god, Y/n, are you okay?" Sophia exclaimed, her voice full of concern.
"I'm hurt, but I'll be fine. Just please, what ever you do don't come. Go somewhere safe. We'll meet up later, I promise," Y/n said, trying to keep her voice steady.
"But I'm nearly there," Sophia replied, determination in her voice. "Go home Soph, please. I don't want you to get hurt." y/n pleads through the phone, Sophia just nods. "Okay, just please tell me you'll be alright" Sophia worriedly groans back, too focused on her conversation than the neighbourhood around her. "yes, I promise i'll be fine." y/n answers back, "I have to go, but please go home. Its not safe out there" "I promise" and she hangs up.
Y/n breathed a small sigh of relief and closed her eyes, trying to stay calm. She knew that Sophia would be okay, that she would be safe.
But as she opened her eyes, she saw the figure in the ghostly mask standing right in front of her, knife in hand.
Y/n tried to scream, but the killer covered her mouth with their other hand. She struggled against their grip, but it was no use and they hit her head, knocking her out.
When she wakes up, suddenly, a second figure in the same ghostly mask appeared, fighting with the first killer. Y/n watched in confusion as the two Ghostfaces battled it out, one of them trying to protect her while the other was trying to kill JJ.
Y/n didn't know which one of the Ghostfaces was Sarah, her girlfriend. She was too afraid to move or speak, hoping that the one trying to protect her would win the fight.
The two Ghostfaces continued to fight, and Y/n took the opportunity to crawl away as quietly as possible. She knew that she had to find JJ and get out of there before one of them caught her.
As she made her way through the house, she heard the sounds of the fight growing louder behind her. She knew that she was running out of time.
Suddenly, JJ appeared in front of her, holding a knife in one hand and his phone in the other.
"Y/n, we have to go now!" he said urgently. "I called the police, they're on their way."
Y/n breathed a small sigh of relief, grateful for her brother's quick thinking. Together, they made their way towards the front door, hoping that they could escape before the Ghostfaces caught them.
But as they reached the door, they heard the sound of footsteps behind them. They turned around, and there stood the two Ghostfaces, their knives at the ready.
Y/n held her breath, unsure of what was going to happen next. She didn't know which one of them was going to attack, and she didn't know if they were going to survive this.
Y/n lay in her hospital bed, her body aching from the attack. She couldn't believe that she had come so close to death, and she was scared of what would happen next. As she lay there, lost in her thoughts, she heard a knock at the door.
"Come in," she called out, unsure of who it could be.
The door opened, and Sarah stepped into the room. Y/n was surprised to see her there, but she was also relieved. Sarah was her girlfriend, and she was the only person who truly understood what she was going through.
"Hey," Sarah said softly, making her way over to Y/n's bed.
"Hey," Y/n replied, trying to sit up in bed.
Sarah gently helped her sit up, arranging the pillows behind her back.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you," Sarah said, her voice filled with regret.
"It's not your fault," Y/n said, reaching out to take Sarah's hand.
Sarah squeezed her hand tightly, her eyes filling with tears.
"I love you, Y/n. I don't know what I would do if I lost you," Sarah said, her voice breaking.
"I love you too," Y/n said, her own eyes filling with tears.
They sat there in silence for a moment, just holding onto each other. Y/n felt a sense of peace wash over her, knowing that she wasn't alone in this.
"Sarah, do you know who the killer is?" Y/n asked, breaking the silence.
Sarah hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to answer.
"I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that it's someone we know," Sarah finally said, her voice low.
Y/n felt a chill run down her spine. The thought that the killer could be someone close to them was terrifying.
"We have to find out who it is before they hurt anyone else," Y/n said, determined in her voice.
"I know," Sarah said, nodding her head in agreement. "We'll figure this out together, Y/n. I promise.
