though her first instinct is to bite back (always has been) after a beat and a narrowing of her gaze, her lip curls up some in amusement: it's not quite a snarl or a show of teeth- yet. this is a sentiment she's all too familiar with; one she's spent lifetimes fighting against. ❛ you sure you wanna play with me? i'll tell you what i told williamson- i've always played rough, ever since i was a girl. i'd fight with other girls, boys... hell, i'd fight my own darn shadow! the boys and girls, the mommas an' daddies, all said the same thing: boys' play ain't girls' play. it ain't becomin' for a girl to be mixin' with boys. but, after scrappin' with me, they'd learn quick that if you're riled enough an' you're hittin' hard enough- if you hit enough- you'll fall an' bleed just the same. don't matter how big or how bad you are, if you got a pecker or a puss... we all got our weaknesses. i ain't never come across no-one who could take a boot to the stones or the muffin and stay standin'. ❜ all this said while checking her rifle (with maybe just a little more force than is necessary). ❛ don't you worry 'bout me- i can handle myself. you just worry about you. ❜
