Yet Another EDP Post

I have a couple little things to share this time.

First off, here's a screencap drawover with Thrift and Horizon beefing. It took a surprisingly long time to make something like this... but I feel like I managed to merge the designs into the show style relatively well. It's still a little weird looking to me (and I was also tempted to make Thrift even smaller lol) but it was a fun exercise, maybe I'll do it again sometime.

I left the original screenshot at the bottom of this post. Lastly, here's a big line up of the main cast so far and a name list for every pony in EDP so far since I don't think I have a full one yet, and I think it'll come in handy for myself later lol.

It was fun to consider all of their heights, especially seeing how small Thrift is... I decided to make him the smallest, even more than Mercy since she's part hippogriff and they're quite tall lol. It's very funny to me realizing just how small he looks compared to ponies like Kindle or Mystic.

There's also Saber's biological mother (unamed earth pony or unicorn), the rest of the Carnival family (all earth ponies), Mercy's parents (One pony, one hippogriff), Kindle's parents (One bovine, one kirin or kirin hybrid), and Ember's parents (two crystal ponies who seemingly disappeared during the time the Crystal Empire was lost)

Also, here's the screencap I used as a base. This is from Fall Weather Friends. I also made use of Gilda's wings, because Horizon needs big griffin wings this is obligatory /silly

Yamato screecap draw-over (Galo from Promare) Yamato is one of my favorites, he's probably first place in my "favorites besides the three I fixate on" list /silly

Just a little something for his B-Day. I didn't have the extra energy for drawing him a proper piece so I decided to do another screencap edit/traceover? Not sure what to call this process exactly... I've done one before with Utsuro like this, a long while back. To be honest, I don't know if this one looks as much like Yamato as the Lio one did for Utsuro-the greyscale lighting doesn't help-but oh well, I had fun anyways.

Original screencap and a little explanation of the process below:

Basically, it's a combination of drawing over and recreating elements (like recreating the BG entirely for this one) and trying to work the new character in lol. I made an attempt at drawing Yamato's hair in this style, I don't know how well it succeeded but it needed to be big to match Promare's aesthetic lol.

The original screenshot below + progress shots below to illustrate the process a bit better.

Basically it's just: recreate backdrop/glow, sketch trace over screencap, draw Yamato's hair and edit some things about Galo to match him a bit better, do lineart without pen pressure in a matching style and colors to the og, put in colors/shading, then do a little bit of blurring and glow where needed. This background was pretty simple so I just didn't even use the og screenshot or try to blend them and instead made a new one.

It's not that complicated to make fake screencaps like this and can be kinda relaxing (or a good way to analyze the style of the source). I'd recommend trying it if it interests you.
