Happy Birthday, @scribophile!!!
for the wip game:
couch! 🫶
Thank you, friend! Ed spends a lot of time on the couch in Afterlight boys, so here you get the whole premise of the fic!
Ed pushes himself off the couch, wincing as his knee complains, and carefully shuffles closer to the TV. The Gentleman also comes closer to the screen (or whatever it is on his side of the… world? Universe? Plane? Ed’s not really sure) until Ed can just see his (lovely, smiling, kind) face and the tops of his broad shoulders. “Well, actually I do that quite a bit. Don’t get a lot of company around here. Nice to see a friendly face. Hello! I’m Stede. Stede Bonnet.”
Ed rubs his temples with his fingers. “Yeah, I know.”
“You’ve heard of me?” The Gentleman— Stede— looks pleased.
Uh oh. This is… weird. Is this weird? Yeah, it’s— this is weird. Ed’s pretty sure this is very not normal. “I was watching your movies,” he says, frowning, “and I… I must be more tired than I thought, man.”
“I, for one, am glad you’re here,” Stede says.
Send me a word and I'll send you a snippet of it in my WIP!
11 & 16!

11. if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?
I'm so proud of Moonstone Mage Championship which was such a difficult thing to write and remains one of the hardest things i've finished to this day ❤️ i'm very very proud that I managed to do it justice despite the horrors ™️ (two pet deaths and cancellation)
and very proud of this art that i drew for it ❤️
16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
i do think people appreciate this enough but his beautiful s1 hair 😭 i miss stede's s1 curls even more than i miss his wardrobe sometimes

A very happy birthday to the lovely @scribophile ! I made this Gentlebeard pic compilation for you! I hope you like it. I hope you have a wonderful day! Happy birthday Piper! 🥳💜🥳💜
(I tried my best but the berets look a little wonky. I think they look adorable anyway! This compilation is also what happens when I can’t make up my mind which edit I wanted to give as a gift. So you get them all!)
List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who liked or reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals and followers✨

Find a Safe Harbor for Critique Groups with Scribophile
Every year, we’re lucky to have great sponsors for our nonprofit events. And each year, our sponsor Scribophile likes to ask a new member who found them through NaNoWriMo to write about their experience at Scribophile. This is what author Snorri Haugen submitted:
NaNoWriMo is one of the seas upon which I sail my ship of prose. It’s an adventure with high winds, heavy waves, and all sails set. The bow crashes into the waves, throwing off cold spray, and the story pours out like the rushing sea over the edge of the world.
A couple of short months ago I made the 50,000-word journey and coached a bunch of students to writing tens of thousands of words together. It was then I started looking for a sheltered bay.
Looking for more blogs to follow!
I’ve gotten more serious with my writing lately and am in the process of finding more writing blogs to follow; If you post basically anything writing related (references, prompts, NaNoWriMo, etc) - like this post, please!
I already like Scribophile as place to post fiction and I haven’t even posted anything yet.
If you haven’t checked it out and you’re a writer, you totally should. It looks as though everyone who posts has an honest to goodness chance of getting helpful critique rather than just getting lost under thousands and thousands of fiction works. They have a rotating spotlight system in which everyone who posts gets entered into. IDK how often the spotlight changes but the site actually offers readers incentive to read and leave meaningful responses!
