Seeing the comments on this tweet push back. "Surveys are biased because the male fans didn't answer surveys" or whatever, reminded me of an article I saw 2 months ago.
This feels like that tweet trying to rewrite geek history by claiming no one ever got bullied for liking anime.

I remember learning in school as a little kid, how post WW2 US got a lot of scientists, and thus, bolstered science programs, because a lot of them were escaping Germany. Then later, I learned that Germany used to be the forefront of research in multiple fields. I had no idea they used to be the hub of science. It's so weird watching our current US racing towards that future history, but about us.
