Seeing the comments on this tweet push back. "Surveys are biased because the male fans didn't answer surveys" or whatever, reminded me of an article I saw 2 months ago.

This feels like that tweet trying to rewrite geek history by claiming no one ever got bullied for liking anime.

I used to think comments like that were from younger people, who can't fully remember 10 years ago because they were in elementary school or something. Or when you're young, 5 years ago feels like an eternity. But I'm beginning to think people are being purposely deceptive or unaware of how overwhelmingly under informed they are. Or just really distorted memories, because the thing discussed happened when they were children???

But wow. Go look up why people started calling Capcom "crapcom" and when they started calling Capcom "capgod" again.

No RE game has a story above a 7/10.

It absolutely did. RE6 sold well off the back of 4 and 5 and was a MASSIVE critical failure amongst fans and critics alike, killing the series for 6 years. RE7’s success is the entire reason RE has come back as strongly as it did.

“RE is better with characters we know and love.”

This series has been going on for three decades now, we gotta stop limiting RE to only the characters we have. I’m not the biggest fan of Ethan, he’s kinda white bread. But we need to allow Capcom to introduce new characters an elements into the story.

Resident Evil isn’t just about Chris, or Leon, or Jill, or anyone specifically. Part of why the series can go on so long is its ability to tell stories from countless perspectives of people involved, let Capcom explore that advantage."

I remember learning in school as a little kid, how post WW2 US got a lot of scientists, and thus, bolstered science programs, because a lot of them were escaping Germany. Then later, I learned that Germany used to be the forefront of research in multiple fields. I had no idea they used to be the hub of science. It's so weird watching our current US racing towards that future history, but about us.
