Haven’t done big serious™ portraits in a while, but the colour palette of this scene tickled my brain. And Ben’s acting in the show, uh. Never fails to give me goosebumps.

And my little review down there (which is unnecessary to agree with for reblogging ;))) 👇

Can I say, can I say?

The actors are great, the music is lovelovelove, and some scenes are pure gems; Ben is brilliant (as he is in all the things he takes part in). The last episode is so sweet and touching, and the visuals of the show are on top. Every scene that involved dancing gave me chills. Ep05’s Vincent monologue about baby Edgar made me tear up, and honestly, Ben has absolutely no reason to be such a great actor—

Yet, I found the series’ ending unsatisfying. A bunch of unresolved arcs like Vincent's almost Strange conflict with his parents (from which I expected more than a metaphor for capitalism at the end), and even Edgar's motivation for running away was strange (because, well, they told us, but never showed—not saying that Edgar couldn’t be hurt by Vincent’s dickhead behaviour, but the show never established on-screen what so terrible latter did so that Edgar’s decision to run away wouldn’t look so… extreme?).

Maybe I'm missing something here, but from the middle of ep01, I got a feeling that the show would’ve benefited from focusing on one thing instead of trying to talk about everything at once. That reminded me of Broadchurch, which kinda raised similar topics but looked more engaging and coherent even though it also followed both the detective and the ‘family’ arcs and touched on societal issues.

hi there! I just found your blog looking for gifs/pics of Benedict Cumberbatch from the movie Power Of The Dog.... I think you know from which scenes if you know what I mean lmao *wink*... anyway, I gotta say I love your blog and I love Benedict, don't mind me just mass liking your posts of that sexy sexy man *drool* - I especially love your tag 'patron saint of sinful women' *drools more*

Thank you so much for the many, many likes, my dear - it's been wonderful looking back at older posts of My Beautiful Obsession when they come up in my notifications, as well as rediscovering some of the sauciest tags and other things I've written about him! Benedict is a gift that keeps on giving, and I (like most of the fandom) find that he just gets more delightful & delicious with each passing year.

If you haven't already discovered his large body of work (I'm guessing you've seen his Doctor Strange & Sherlock Holmes), you should check out his Khan from Star Trek: Into Darkness

as well as the series Patrick Melrose and Eric, both on Netflix, and the movies The Courier and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, to name just a few. He's such an amazing, talented Actor that I adored him for his talent well before his sex appeal enthralled me.

Of course, I'm now & forever an admirer - and have penned tens of thousands of words in fics based on his characters. Though I'm currently in a long bout of writer's block😔😔, Benedict remains My Constant Muse; the very reason I rediscovered I could write at all, inspired by his creativity.

He always does, my friend; he always manages to give me a sense of calm when I feel like I'm lost at sea. BC has that vibe that reminds me that there's so very much good in the world--because he's good and kind and compassionate. And damn fine to look at😁, even dressed down.
