Santa baby....did you get all my letters?! I sure hope so! Yet In a season filled with gift-giving, decorations, festive gatherings and planning for the new year, it’s easy to lose sight of the reason for the season. For this #mondaymotivation 🙏 Let’s take a moment to pause and take in the significance of what we’re celebrating. “The virgin will be pregnant and will give birth to a son. They will name him Immanuel. [Immanuel means “God with us.” ] -Matthew 1:23 The role of Mary, the Mother of Jesus always draws me in. There’s a ton to unpack when you think about her role in the story. She was just a young girl who was engaged to be married to Joseph when God interrupted her plans and commissioned her for a higher purpose. He found favor over her to carry out the most important mission in human history. After saying yes to the call, we can only imagine the accusations she faced from her community, family, and fiancé. However, despite all the challenges Mary encountered she remained obedient and faithful to the mission of birthing a savior into the world. Often times we pray, “Lord send me, and I’ll do what you say,” yet, we forget the obedience, perseverance, and sacrifice needed to bring a vision forward. So as we celebrate the gift of Jesus this season, consider what God is inviting you to be obedient and faithful to? What plans has He interrupted for a higher purpose? What has He entrusted you to carry, nurture and birth for His Glory? Excerpt from @gritandvirtue (One of my favs). Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
