I got chills listening to Mrs Donnette Carroll's testimony yesterday Mrs Carroll is the President of the Sickle Cell Thalassemia Patients Network. She is 65 years old and was diagnosed wit Sickle cell as a young woman. I stress her Age because my heart broke for every person with Shirts that bared the image of young people with the Disease who have passed away young. I remember hearing that the expected age of mortality was 20 or 21 My Brother Albert beat that statistic but passed on recently from issues surrounding a sickle crisis that hospitalized him. Sickle cell is a disease your born with. I often wonder why the innocent suffer. But yesterday was a day of fun and laughter. While we spread a positive message that you can live a long healthy life even with #sicklecell #SCTPN #sicklecellawareness #centralpark (at Central Park)
