Nine people are aboard the Enterprise on route to a shipyard when they decide to take a detour to survey a nearby planet. What should have been a simple scan of a planet turns into a disaster as the Enterprise is shot out of orbit by an unknown weapon, and her passengers have no choice but to ride escape pods down into the waters of Planet 4546B.
