Advent Drabble 19 - Yarn

The Doctor comes upon the TARDIS’s craft closet unexpectedly, overflowing with random art supplies the kids might need.

“Did you know the TARDIS has a craft closet now?” the Doctor asks Rose.

“Yes. Where did you think the kids got everything?”

The Doctor never thinks – not really – about where things on the TARDIS come from. “You know, I could have done with an unlimited supply of yarn back when I was teaching myself how to knit.”

“You know how to knit? I’d love a new scarf for Christmas, then.”

“I’m not saying I succeeded at teaching myself how to knit.”

Advent Drabble 4 - Swimsuit

“What is this?” Matt asks blankly, staring at the suitcases in the hallway.

“Our luggage,” Patrick answers, just as blank. He thinks that’s obvious.

“I told you that you only had to pack swimsuits,” Matt reminds him. “We’re just laying on the beach all day.”

“You are forgetting that Kylie needs to bring art supplies and Miranda has brought a small photography studio and Hailey just wants to be sure we don’t run out of her favorite kind of snack. She doesn’t trust your private Caribbean island to have white cheddar Cheez-Its.”

Matt considers. “Actually, she’s probably right about that.”

Advent Drabble 1 - Sparkly

The Doctor thinks it’s an understandable mistake. He has two daughters in the TARDIS who are so in love with sparkly things that just walking through the control room can be enough to cover him in glitter. They have more tiaras than anyone can count; just the tiaras gifted to them by grateful planetary empresses number in the dozens.

So the Doctor, faced with what kind of cupcakes to buy for the girls at the bakery on Rrrrrrh, decides the sparkly ones are the obvious choice.

How was he to know they would turn out to taste like sweaty socks? (There are still more slots available! Sign up here!)

Advent Drabble 8 - Octopus

Requested by @sdlibrarian

Arthur was the dreamer, so Eames was expecting the dreamscape to be perfect, pristine, as Arthur’s dreamscapes were.

Eames was definitely not expecting the octopus. Right there, in the middle of the suburban mall.

The mark said, “Is that an octopus?” and Eames engineered a distraction.  

When the job was over, and the team was berating Arthur, Eames said, “It turned out fine.” But then, to Arthur, “An octopus?”

Arthur muttered, “Sorry.”

“Everyone makes mistakes, darling. It’s just…an octopus? What were you thinking?”

“The way you sleep,” Arthur admitted, blushing. “Like an octopus. Arms and legs everywhere. Whatever.”

Eames grinned.
