In the ski resort (which was accesed in similar way to Ginger Island, but in a different adventure)
Sebastian is enjoying the snowy weather. He isn’t much of a sporty type, so doesn’t really use skies or snowboard. But he is almost always the one to hop on the snow scooter and get groceries, or pick up a reckless skier who got themselves stuck in a snowdrift or lost the way home. He still does his remote job, but now has a desk next to the window. Natural light and beautiful view keep him in a good mood.
And in his spare time? Long walks in the nearby forest. Quiet landscape, the occasional view of a fox or rabbit with it’s winter coat, lots of time to either think or converse with his special someone… Wild mistletoe on the trees, for when he feels like doing something a little bit cheesy. What more could you want from winter holidays?
Sam is usually the idiot that gets stuck in the snow or loses his way home. But it doesn’t mean he’d even start to consider quitting his snowboard! It’s a bit like a skateboard, but Lewis doesn’t get angry at him. Outside of that he also plays on his guitar, often making small shows to the delight of other townsfolk. He writes a lot of new songs, change of scenery was great for his inspiration. If he has a special someone, that person better be ready for playing in the snow - A LOT of it. Building snowmen, snowcastles, having snowball fights… But if his snowball accidentally falls behind Sam’s partner’s shirt, he makes face like an apologetic dog and coddles them for the rest of the day.
Jas and Vincent play with Sam a lot, as well as with each other. After all, there is so much to do for kids when the snow falls, and skies and snowboard lessons are available pretty much all day long! When the playtime is over, they have lessons on soft cushions next to the fireplace. Although you can hardly call that “lessons”. Penny reads books and tells incredible stories to them, as they are all sipping on hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Penny spends most of her time next to the fireplace. She can’t remember ever being so relaxed! The resort turned out to have a hudge library, and so now Penny’s biggest problem is: Which title to read next? She prepares lessons and cuddles a lot with her special someone, who cares for her in a way that makes the woman’s heart melt. They make sure she is never without a snack and a hot beverage in her long hours of reading.
To say that Elliott is inspired is to say nothing at all. He’s filling pages and pages of stories, most of them light hearted criminals about a group of people stuck in the ski resort in the middle of a snowstorm. He was wary that other townspeople would take offense when they find out that he uses them as inspiration, but it turned out not to be the case at all. After his special someone convinced him to do a public reading, it turned out that villagers are enamored by the stories. They practically race to guess who is the murderer this time and giggle hard when the results turn out to be even more interesting than what they imagined. “I thought I would get to be the mastermind for once!” Shouts Pierre, in pretended anger. “Maybe next time, honey” Caroline kisses his cheek “Jodi, dear, I didn’t know you’ve had such a femme fatale side to you!”.
Elliott also writes romances, but these are only for the eyes of his special someone. Some of them wouldn’t be suitable to read out loud in public when the children could hear it… and some are just very intimate. When he doesn’t write, he spends hours taking a walk with his partner and friends, conversing with them, sometimes skiing (although not too often, because he doesn’t want to damage his hair). Evenings are for sitting together with the people he loves and enjoying tea or Gus’s special warming cocktails. And nights… “Dear, do you think the hot tub is free right now?” He asks his partner.
Haley is usually the reason the hot tub is taken. She claims to like summer the most, but the girl is GLOWING in chilly, winter environment. She uses hot tub and sauna frequently (not in the amount that would do damage to her hair or skin of course), sometimes alone with a romance book or magazine, usually with her sister and some other girlies, giggling and gossiping. She makes GORGEOUS photos of the resort, landscape, people and obviously herself (these killer winter outfits have to be commemorated). Many of the photos will end up on the walls of Community Center back in Pelican Town, or in the newspaper, some will be bought by the resort for commercial purposes. If Haley has special someone, she definitely wants to be taken by them to beautiful places that are a bit further away. She could go there on her own obviously, but she likes putting the act of “I am sooo pure and fragile, will you pull the sled with me on it? You’re so strong and good with navigating 🥺👉👈”. If they agree she makes amazing photos when they arrived, and then the to of them make love kiss passionately. The scenario with them not agreeing is simply not possible.
For Maru the place is just perfect for stargazing. High in the mountains, far from any source of artificial light, with a wide balcony? She couldn’t imagine a more perfect vacation. Every clear night she goes to the balcony with her telescope and watches in awe. If she has a partner, they of course come with her. To watch the stars, yes, but they pale in comparision to Maru being in her element. She is simply glowing! The two of them wrap tightly in blankets, drink hot chocolate from thermos and eat their favorite snacks. Life is perfect.
Goat (or sheep) cheese with cranberry? Mulled wine? Oh, Leah swears she is in heaven! And that’s just the traditional mountain food. We didn’t even mention the stunning landscapes she paints, the below zero temperatures that let her ice and snow sculptures last for days if not weeks, the beautiful forest! And after a day of admiring nature and creating art, she slips into the hot tub or cuddles next to the fireplace with earlier mentioned food and beverage. She’s gossiping with Haley, drinking and discussing with Elliott, and if she has a partner she does all of that and more with them.
