Bowl attributed to potter Nell Cole Graves, (1908-1997), Seagrove, NC. First female potter in the Seagrove tradition

I had blogged this once before, but wanted to add a note. My daughter gave me the book North Carolina Pottery The Collection of the Mint Museums for Christmas, and there is a description of Nell Cole Graves' pottery that helps me to feel more certain that this bowl is by her. It describes the work she did with her brother, Waymon Cole: "They refined their glazes, which would run down from the top edges of the piece, leaving a thin brown rim and a soft, brilliantly glossy surface partially achieved through Nell's very thin turning" (source: Sweezy, Raised in Clay)
