While the political world jumps into high gear as we sit in the middle of the two largest parties' national conventions, I want to remind you that there is more than one office up for election. The presidential race is an important one, but so are the federal and state congress people, local and state judges, local representatives and other people who make decisions that will affect you every day for the next 2, 4, or 6 years before they are up for reelection. I live in a historically republican House district. Two years ago, we were the site of one of the top battlegrounds in the country. We fought tooth and nail with assistance from people around the country to flip our seat to a representative who respects us, our time, our health, and our future. Sean Casten is up for reelection, and I am hoping he can hold onto his seat. Because he is smart and fights for science and basic human decency, among other important issues. I implore you to research all the candidates on your ballot. Choose a few issues that are most important to you. And vote knowledgeably on every question on the ballot. #vote #vote2020 #seancasten #election (at Wheaton, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEPNcLCjclW/?igshid=14oaomawel62g
