I called her Undine, wrote a story for her and let her float freely on my website. Finished and signed and already in my shop. Link in bio. . Undine, 15 x 20 cm (6” x 8”) acrylic on canvas . "Isn't the sound of her voice like a sweet lullaby for a restless soul? Doesn't the saltish sheen of her lips cost all the jewels in the world? Aren't the waves of her long raven hair a perfect place to get lost into? And her dark liquid eyes — something to die for?" . #paintersofinstagram #lady #womanportrait #whimsicalart #whimsicalwedding #acrylicpainting #fantasypainting #surrealart #surrealartist #surrealpainting #marinepainting #marinelandscape #seapainting #seapaint #sea #sealandscape #ilovesea #sealove #sealovers #sealover #waterscape #seascape #seascapepainting #seascapeart #mermaid #mermaidtattoo #mermaidhair #mermaids #mermaidstuff #mermaidsarereal https://www.instagram.com/p/B0jdg1qnyOJ/?igshid=c6mddmhz3d5q
Ok so this is the part where I make my ship everyone’s problem!
So for those of you who don’t know Seapaint is the ship name of the pairing Wally Darling X Dorothy Do that I created. The name was chosen by @dollyrot666
I’m making this post for fun and to explain why I ship these two cause it isn’t “Taking two good looking characters and making them kiss” I have reasons! Though a lot of it is based on the little info we have about these two now.
For those who don’t know both these characters are from two completely different projects that are currently running.
Wally Darling is from the ARG “Welcome Home” created by @partycoffin aka Clown.
And Dorothy Do is from the ARG “Pendog Creative Library” created by @withkindereyes aka Mirphy.
Both are Main Puppet Characters of their shows “Welcome Home” for Wally and “The Deep Blue” for Dorothy. However different type as the former a felt puppet and the latter being a marionette.
So let’s dive into their dynamic
I like to think of Wally and Dorothy’s relationship as wholesome. Like the most wholesome relationship you can think of.
Wally is friendly and likes to learn, and so does Dorothy. However Dorothy also teaches his audience on occasion (Wally does too but it’s just Art it seems).
So I’d like to think their relationship would start off (aside from the instant mutual attraction) with Dorothy teaching Wally various of things like his neighbors would do. Wally would be very interested in learning about the different places Dorothy has been with Wally only being in the neighborhood for so long. He also likes that Dorothy is “Everybody’s Neighbor” as Dorothy puts it “The World is my Home”.
Though he wonders if Dorothy travels the world never visiting one place more than once, where the marionette would go after that? So despite the fact that she might’ve declined Wally said “If you ever need a place to call Home you can always stay with us”.
Dorothy is described as having a drive to do good in the world. I’d often like to think Wally does in some way too. In some earlier ideas I had, Wally was actually a fan of “The Deep Blue” books and would sneak them into The Playfellow Workshop so he and his friends could read them in secret. They weren’t able to watch the TV show but got a hold of the movie. Wally was so enamored with the Marionette as he wished to Do Good like Dorothy.
(Yeah I know the Movie came out AFTER Welcome Home got Cancelled ok, this is in my AU)
On Dorothy’s end they love how curious and eager to learn the felt puppet is, as it reminds them of how they use to be when they started out. He also appreciates how kind and innocent they are. Though Dorothy would never hide the harsher truths of the world from Wally, he likes that somehow the felt puppet would find a way to keep on smiling even though they can see the sadness seeping through.
These two always know how the other is feeling and try to help one another as much as they can. Both suffered from their time on the air in some way and are still struggling with the emotional baggage that came with it. So they both like to talk and be open about their experiences with each other.
Another idea I had is that both want what the other has. Wally wants to learn, experience the world and help others, while Dorothy after living a life of danger probably would like to if not eternally sleep at least have a quiet life after retirement. I like to think they both achieve this in some way with the other’s help.
When Dorothy does end up going back on a dangerous quest on The Deep Blue Wally isn’t a bother. In fact he actually helps out a lot even if it’s all by accident.
Dorothy hardly thinks Wally is creepy, though that could be because he’s been friends with Maisy the Mutt for a long time. But she also knows it’s not his fault. Dorothy is very patient with Wally and answers his every question to the best of their ability. They never downplay Wally’s intelligence and actually believe him to be very smart and clever in some cases, being very sure to tell him that as he knows it makes him feel good.
And Wally like Dorothy’s creator Barbra would refer to Dorothy as He/She/They switching between pronouns with in the same paragraph while referring to them. Some quotes I thought Wally might say “I don’t like to say I don’t care about your gender because it’s apart of you and I love ALL parts of you, so saying I don’t care is to me like I’m saying I don’t care about apart of who you are, and it hurts me to say that” or “I love you no matter what you refer to yourself as long as you’re still you”
(Yes Wally is Bi/Pan in my interpretation, though I’m still not that knowledgeable about certain things in the LGBTQ community since I’m straight and cis so I don’t know if these quotes are ok to say to a trans gender fluid person so please tell me)
I’d like to think when they first met, Wally with permission kissed Dorothy’s hand. But after Dorothy would kiss Wally’s hand. Dorothy would also like to hug and get really close to Wally while flirting with them with the occasional kiss on the cheek because he knows Wally likes physical touch (though nothing too crazy) while the felt puppet just giggles while blushing bright red. The few times Wally genuinely laughs which Dorothy likes to hear.
Wally would accidentally flirt with Dorothy. And what I mean is he would say things to Dorothy he wouldn’t see as flirting. An example:
Wally and Dorothy watching a sunset together
Dorothy: *Sigh* isn’t this the most beautiful view you’ve ever seen
Wally: Mmhmm
Dorothy glances and sees Wally looking at him: Um Wally the Sunset’s over there?
Wally: I know
Dorothy: Then why are you looking at me?
Wally: Because I love looking at you more than any sunset.
Dorothy blushes and looks away: I didn’t know you knew how to flirt.
Wally confused cause to him he was just stating facts: Flirt?
Well that the gist of it though I might be missing a few things. I will say this…
When I was thinking about their relationship sometimes I would think of Utena and Anthy from the anime “Revolution Girl Utena”. Which I think these two might have parallels to. (Dorothy/Utena) (Wally/Anthy)
Revolutionary Girl Utena is a good show check it out if you can both the sub and dub are free on YouTube right now! Hurry before it gets taken down!

I’m still figuring it out, but if you read my recent post about Seapaint you’d know that one of my ideas was that Wally was a fan of The Deep Blue novels. While the neighborhood wasn’t allowed to watch the TV show they were aware of it, as recent additions of the Novels back then would mention it.
So I’d like to think Julie convinced the gang to sneak into where they were hosting the show to watch it live. But then that prompted Wally to try to meet Dorothy backstage in person.
