Stopping by Wegmans today was a great idea because, even though I was tired from work, I stumbled upon a couple great beer picks.
I’ve been in a bit of a sour beer mood recently, but I didn’t want it sour enough to quench my lips into a lemon. I figured the Dogfish Head Seaquench was the perfect pick.
With the perfect zest, the sourness is there but it’s not ridiculously overwhelming. Slightly salty, with a hint of lime, it is a refreshing beer that I will always recommend. Plus Dogfish Head Brewing makes some good stuff.
The second beer that absolutely tickled my taste buds was The Poet by Holland Brewing. A completely opposite on the spectrum, a stout, but incredibly smooth and delicious.
Very smooth, rich, easy to drink and slightly sweet. I love my stouts more on the smooth side, that’s why I absolutely love a good stout on nitro. That smoothness is incredible and really changes the beer along with its flavor. The Poet, although not on nitro, has much lower carbonation. The aftertaste is incredible, slightly smokey and still a hint of sweetness.
What’re your guys’ thoughts on these two?
