They are both broken, their hearts worn and with holes in the shape of their loved ones, but in each other they were learning to patch the holes and remember them, to mourn and move on. Though the heartbreak had been great, Kaldur thought that it was almost worth it.

Artemis curls her fingers over his, pulling her legs up underneath her and leaning her head against his shoulder. "Do you want to tell me about her?'

"Tula was always an important fixture in my life as a student," he begins, bringing the hand not holding hers to her scalp to thread through the long locks.
