OOOohhh, interesting. I fancast Hiddles because who else can play the part, really, but there has always been something that keeps me from embracing him 100%. And it took me a long time to get to this point. But this….this is an interesting idea. Methinks I need to catch up on AoS now, and especially to hear him talk.
YES DO. HE IS VERY SCOTTISH-SOUNDING.
I mean that character is 0% Francis-like, but there are flashes of something, brief moments, in the last two episodes, where I've been sort of like "you... you could maybe play Francis Crawford, couldn't you?"

At first I was like TOO YOUNG but then [giant photo here] Not too bad. Oh, thank god they’re never making a show/movie we’d all hate it.
I AM SO INORDINATELY PLEASED THAT YOU DON'T ENTIRELY HATE THE IDEA :D
As an aside: I actually found that age was one of the things that I liked about this casting? Francis is only about, what? About 20, 21, at the start of the first book. In addition to his slight stature, extreme youth is another very obvious kind of vulnerability, which he works hard to conceal/distract other from. ::thinks about how young francis is:: ::howls:: ::sobs:: ::collapses to the floor:: ::weeps::
And don't lie: the very fact that there was an adaptation to yell about would more than make up for any all of its faults. :P
