Need to write 5,000 fanfics about the parallels between Sebastian and Anders. How they were both resented by their families and sent away. How they both had armed guards who would rather see them dead than free. How they both became escape artists because they just wanted to live freely, but they were always dragged back. And how the main difference is that Sebastian was indoctrinated while Anders wasn’t.

Like do you ever think that Sebastian looks at Anders and sees what he could have been? If he had been recruited by the wardens? If he had been free from his family and the chantry and allowed to be himself, if only within the confines of the wardens. Would it have led him down a path of vengeance? Would it have given him the will to fight?

Do you ever think that Anders looks at Sebastian and sees what he could have been? We know that Anders didn’t try to escape the Circle when he was with Karl, Anders knows that having someone care about you can influence so much. Do you think that he sees that comparison in Sebastian? Sebastian found Elthina who cared about him, and he stayed in the chantry for her, just like how Anders stayed for Karl. But unlike Anders and Karl, Sebastian was never separated from Elthina, so he learned to be happy with his lack of freedom, he was indoctrinated by the chantry. And that could have been Anders, he could have been convinced to stay in the Circle with Karl.

Gnawing on the bars of my cage because I need someone to listen to me about how Sebastian and Anders are actually so similar because they both have the same trauma of being locked away and dragged back every time they tried to escape, just because they wanted to be free. But Anders doesn’t take Sebastian seriously because he doesn’t actually listen to Sebastian’s trauma, and Sebastian doesn’t take Anders seriously because no one ever say him down and said “hey buddy, that was actually super not normal and very messed up. Your parents should not have had armed guards constantly monitoring you because they would rather have you be dead than free. You know that right? Yeah it’s messed up that it’s happening to mages, and it was messed up when it happened to you. No ‘I turned out fine so it’s not a huge deal’ crap.”

I think all Anders ships are actually chaotic and evil but within that spectrum i made this. Aveline x Anders would’ve gone in the neutral evil slot but I think Carver (specifically templar) deserves it more tbh.

Handers’ spot could really be anywhere on this chart, but i put it in lawful neutral because it’s the only one that can be made canon
